ID law found discriminatory

According to a 2005 study by UW Milwaukee Driver License Status of Voting Age Population those without state-issued photo ID who would need to obtain one to vote include:

■23% of elderly Wisconsinites over the age of 65
■17% of white men and women
■55% of African American males and 49% of African American women
■46% of Hispanic men and 59% of Hispanic women
■78% of African American males age 18-24 and 66% of African American women age 18-24

So you think all those people are incapable of getting an ID?

Why don't you just come out and say "We should just add all those numbers to the Democrat candidates' vote tally. We know they'd all vote Dem anyway"?
Chrissy lives in a world of arrogant presumption.

Most leftists do, despite having no qualifications.

Its all about the ability to cheat, nothing more.

Yep. The Democrat party is the party of voter fraud. They have made it one of their main campaign planks.
That is exactly why they do not like voter id.

Why do you guys spew something unproveable non sense conspiracy theory then proceed to jerk each other off by pretending the made up thing you just made up is real?

There isnt a way to cradle someones nutsack via the internet, but this is dam close.

Voters in Maine struck down another Republican voter suppression law.

The Republican governors are really helping the Democratic Party with their extremist tactics.

You guys have made it very clear you have a compulsory need to cheat.

Voter fraud is virtually non-existent.

The voter ID thing is just a tactic to keep African Americans from voting.

Why and in what way does this prevent only African Americans from voting?

Chrissy and truthdontmatter think they are too stupid to accomplish the task of getting an id all buy theyselves.

81,938 voters in one state.

This is why the republicans want to have these laws to keep voters from voting.

Remember they dont want everyone to vote

The only thing that keeps anyone from voting is that person. No one is being denied their vote, they are just being asked to comply with a request to establish their bona fides. Just like they must to buy alcohol and cigarettes (in most states), or to cash a check, or operate a motor vehicle, or to go to school in some areas. Obtaining and presenting proper identification doesn't seem to be a problem for any other purpose, just voting. And, as a elderly minority, I really resent the implication that I am somehow too stupid, confused, or otherwise impaired to be able to do what is necessary to comply with such a simple requirement. Besides, I would think that every politician, of every political leaning would welcome this opportunity to ensure that the other side cannot subvert the voting process by committing voter fraud.

So do they not have the ability to get an id? I would think if voting was important and/or they were planning to vote they would be able to get one within a year.

Why should they have to?

Voter fraud is practically non existent.

But this isn't the only thing Republicans are doing to keep people from voting.

They are reducing the number of days that the polls are open.

Ask yourself this question, Why would they do that?

That has nothing to do with voter fraud. It's just an attempt to suppress the vote.

So your position is that any human being who can present him/her self at a voting place should be allowed to vote with no restriction or qualification of any type presented by any person for any reason?

Is being a human being too restrictive?

Repeating the lie doesnt make it true.

Did you want some tissue?

You didn't answer the question.

Ah-Ha!

So we ARE limiting it to people.

Money, travel time and things like people being born at home.

You are the one who pretends its about being not good enough of an American to be allowed to vote

What does being born at home have to do with it? I have two siblings who were born at home and they are both able to obtain IDs, and vote.
And face it, there are many people who are so uninformed and unwilling to become informed that their votes are little more than an exercise in popularity. They're more likely to make an informed vote on an "American Idol" or "DWTS" contestant than on an official who will be determining policy and laws that affect all of us.

Is there any qualification that you would impose on an entity in order to allow that entity to vote?

Human? Minimum age? Residence? Nationality?

Just wondering how you you might restrict the vote to any qualification whatever and if you might want a voter to demonstrate by any means whatever that that voter is qualified to vote.

It has been clear to me for years you dont care about our democracy willow

We aren't a Democracy, twit.

Your argument is not with me its with every encyclopedia nad dictionary in the world.

To say the US is not a democracy is the same as saying a cow is not a bovine.

The United States is a representative republic. There are some distinct differences, here's the short version:

Democracy:
a: government by the people; especially : rule of the majority.
b: a government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised by them directly or indirectly through a system of representation usually involving periodically held free elections.
Attitude toward law is that the will of the majority shall regulate, whether it be based upon deliberation or governed by passion, prejudice, and impulse, without restraint or regard to consequences

Republic
a: a government having a chief of state who is not a monarch and who in modern times is usually a president : a political unit (as a nation) having such a form of government.
b: a government in which supreme power resides in a body of citizens entitled to vote and is exercised by elected officers and representatives responsible to them and governing according to law.

Great, then pat them on the back and realize that everyone is not like you. Once you realize that everyone isnt you or your siblings you'll realize that there are people out there not like you.

Every explanation of how to do something is easy when you explanation involves someone else to do it. Think about when your wife asks you to fix a car problem...They always say "All you have to do is..." and it always sounds soooo simple

so you are for keeping legal Americans from voting to protect nothing but to punish them for not meeting your arbitrary rules

Whatever floats your boat, I've made my opinion very clear. And if you don't have confidence in minorities being able to get themselves an id then fuck you too, I have every confidence in them looking after themselves.

You pretend its an insult to people to make sure they get a chance to vote?

You insult them by implying they are too stupid to comply with reasonable standards.

It doesnt, read the OP it says African Americans AND OTHER MINORITIES.

Glad I could clear that up for you

The comment to which I responded specifically cited African Americans. Please have your Mommy read the posts to you so you can be updated on a timely basis.
