The African leaders have unanimously agreed to pull out of the international Criminal Court and Rome Statute if the court insists on hunting African heads of state.
The African Union urged the International Criminal Court to postpone cases against sitting leaders as accusations of unfair treatment grow against the war crimes tribunal.
"Sitting heads of state and government should not be prosecuted while in office and we have resolved to speak with one voice to make sure that our concerns are heard loud and clear,” said Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the Ethiopian foreign affairs minister.
ICC, however, has sought a way out of the dilemma to block the withdrawal of 34 African states.
As a result, the Kenyan President has won a major concession from the International Criminal Court (ICC), which allowed him to be tried in absentia.
Rome Statute doesn't permit trial in absentia, but the offer was tended to alleviate the tension and avoid imminent crisis between ICC and the angry African leaders.
If so, why President Al Bashir hasn't the same concession? Why the Court insists on his appearance.
ICC is tampering with Justice. The court will soon announce his innocence of all the charges due to the lack of proof to avoid the anger of the African leaders and more complications.
The Court has rejected many appeals to stop the proceedings against President Al Bashir, as the warrant of arrest has aggravated the situations in Darfur. This is not true court which knows only compromise and deal.
