ummm..... Obama has done exactly what he campaigned on. Had he not addressed HC immediately, as he did, he would not have been able to get it done. It is/was 17% of GDP and growing to the glee of insurance co's.

The very first item on the Obama agenda in 2009 was the economy. The stimulus bill was passed and bolstered the economy temporarily. Then Obama went along with extending the Bush tax cuts and adding a payroll tax cut,

which, according to the geniuses on the right, was supposed to stimulate the economy from there.

The time spent on the healthcare bill was the time when the original stimulus was in effect;

to say that Obama should have been doing more about the economy at that time sounds good, until you ask whoever said it what he could have and should have been doing.

The time spent on the healthcare bill was the time when Obama should have been making sure that the original stimulus was getting traction. That the money was going where it should be going. That projects which turned out not to be shovel ready were being helped to become closer to shovel ready faster. That HAMP was working.

And oh yeah, time he should have been working on keeping his promise to put his weight behind a comprehensive immigration reform bill in his first year in office.

Not a time when more and more onerous regulations should be invented with the promise of even more to come, once we pass that health bill and see what's in it.

Obama's ego and lack of insight into the economy made him choose the wrong priorities.
