I told my employer i'm not signing up for healthcare.
my employer responded with "you have to, ...you can't do that"

supposedly , my employer called Stalin, or who ever is in charge, and I was told as long as 70% of the company signs up , I won't have to buy health insurance.

I thought I might take the risk of losing my job but it didn't turn out that way.

my plan is to never sign any paperwork relating to healthcare but the future is obvious,
soon you won't be employed unless you're paying for mansions for the health insurance companies.

Why wouldn't you want free healthcare from your employer?

Actually, as much as I have been humorous about screwing over others, that's not actually a 'goal'. That's just simply going to be the result.

I can't afford health care. The premiums have gone up so high, I simply just flat out can't afford it anymore. I used to..... but now I can't.

So... I have to just do what I have to. Which will end up screwing all the premium holders. Nothing I can do about it. You people set this up, not me.

Now as for your specific situation.... Maybe you have a government job? Maybe you have a union job?

Or maybe even your company is doing so fantastically well... that they can afford the increase in premiums, and even lower your out of pocket cost.

If that's the case for you.... great. More power to you.

On his e.o.b. it was a $41 charge for "smoking consultation.


My daughter was in last month for a bad cough - to listen to her lungs and put the o2 thing on her finger (literally - thats ALL) - it was $250. For four seconds of the doctor's time. I think most of the $250 must have went towards our rent for sitting in the fucking waiting room.

All of what you said is true. But you don't seem to grasp WHY it's true.

Medicare and Medicaid do not cover the full cost of care.

Doctors generally lose money on every single Medicare and Medicaid patient they treat.

As a result.... they have to try and make ends meet some other way. Thus, they charge non-medicare and non-medcaid patients for every single thing they do. They have to close the price gap somehow.

Not true. Before, when I didn't have insurance, and ended up in the hospital, I got a bill, and I paid the bill.

Huh? Apples and Carrots? A physician office, is a completely different beast, by such a wide margin as to not even come close to making a comparison.

An oil company produces and sells BILLIONS of gallons of gasoline.

So you can have profit margins in the 3% range, and a hundred billion gallons of gas, is $3 billion profit.

Point being that you can run an oil company on 3 penny of profit, and make billions of dollars.

A doctors office can't mass produce health care, especially since there is usually only one actual doctor.

The doctor MUST make about 20% in profit, just to make a living, serving only a dozen people a day.

Remember all that special medical equipment and technology, is super expensive, and as with all things in the world, they wear out.

The doctor must not only make enough profit to pay himself, but also make enough profit for retained earning to use to replace all the equipment that is super expensive to replace.

This is the reality, in all small businesses.

And also remember that government regulations make medical equipment super expensive.

In fact much of the high costs in health care are all due to regulations. And as I said before, the doctor has to charge you enough money, to cover the cost of losing money on medicare and medicaid patients.
