I like to use the Thread Mode....so why?

I like to use the Thread Mode. But i wonder why when some threads show there has been responses to it, i go in to look at it and it only shows the comments of the person that started it, but doesn't show any of the responses?? This doesn't happen often, but often enough that it makes me wonder why. The only way i can read the posts then is to go into another mode. Not a big deal, just wondered why??
