Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon from the golden plates in a time span of 85 days. It was translated from April 7th of 1829 to June 30 of 1829. A study of the life of Joseph Smith and his associates bears this out. However, with in this time frame many other things occurred which have lead scholars to believe that the translation could only have occurred with 65 days.

How many people can even write a 531 page book in that amount of time? This was accomplished while Joseph Smith was 24 years old with only a basic education in reading and writing and arithmatic.

Joseph first learned of the gold plates when an angel named Moroni appeared before him and told him of the plates on September 21, 1823. He was not allowed to retrieve the plates until that September 22, 1827.

Joseph first began translating between April and June of 1828. However, Joseph was tempted to allow his associate Martin Harris to take the translated manuscript and show it to his wife and her family. Joseph asked the Lord twice if he could give it to Martin Harris to show his family. The Lord denied him that request twice. Joseph asked a third time and the Lord allowed his request. Martin took the transcript to show his family but lost the manuscript. Joseph's gift to translated the plates was taken away for a time but was eventually restored.

It wasn't until 1829 that he again was allowed to translate. He did a page or two of translation with his wife in February and March but met with Oliver Cowdery and began the bulk of the entire Book of Mormon Translation on April 7, 1829.

Joseph Smith only had a basic education in reading and writing and arithmatic at the time he translated the Book of Mormon.

On Joseph Smith's education

You have to rely heavily on the concept of an intervening God to believe that Joseph Smith translated (not transcribed) this enormous document from a bunch of golden plates written in some ancient language. It had to be the power of the Lord guiding his mind and hand. He would have been writing at a speed that only Commander Data of the Enterprise could match. And yeah where are those dang plates BTW?

Joseph Smith was a charlatan, taking advantage of the gullible hicks and religious fervor of his time.

It's America ... no one in this country is a Mormon, a Jew, a Catholic, a Druid, or an atheist unless they want to be.

Save your outrage for people who are are actually oppressed.

The issue at hand is the TRUTH OF SCRIPTURE and is it factual and dependable and is it necessary and is the LORD its author, keeper, and teacher.

We have have the Old Testament for now many years? We have had the New Testament for how many years? Do we have historic documentation for their continuous existence? In the case of the Old Testament we have the historic physical Jews. For the New Testament we have the historic data of a physical CHURCH and we possess the Holy Spirit from Pentecost --- plus there is the foundation of the revelation of the Messiah.

The book of Mormon lacks physical history of those that came to the New World. And unlike the Old and New Testament, all the "original" transcripts were supposedly removed to heaven. And for this there seems to be no rationality after supposedly remaining buried on earth for centuries!?!?!

There is no rational reason for the book of Mormon to exist accept to support Joseph Smith as the founder of this new belief system ---- that GOD is arbitrary, the Bible is insecure, and control rests with their leadership! This is under the disguise of promoting a belief that the Native Americans were once evangelized but then totally reject the Gospel. Even though the Bible clearly states that preaching the message will not return void.

Isaiah 55:11
So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

People who are not believers presume that the stories surrounding the Bible are exactly like those of the book of Mormon. Someone decided to write a novel and viola' we have a Bible. This is the lie that Satan wishes to perpetrate. Firstly, belief in the book of Mormon saves no one (so Mormons who place their trust in it are lost). Secondly, those that imagine the Bible to be as frivolous and as made up as the book of Mormon will not seek the Savior in its pages or take it seriously. Thirdly, those that do believe in a savior and fall for the book of Mormon will be presenting a distorted Gospel message that will confuse, confound, and complicate. Fourthly, those that are spreading the true Gospel message will have to deal with all the misrepresentation, untruths, and confusion before they can proceed with the task at hand...

I've already had people tell me that the book of Mormon is exactly how the Quran and the Bible originated! Nothing could be further from the facts! One man didn't write, translate, and canonize the Bible. The Holy Spirit worked through multiple individuals and groups over centuries and millennium to bring to us HIS TRUTH. There were checks and balances and historical fact supported by scientific investigation, secular non biblical documentation, and real places that still exist and are rediscovered. There is also prophetic messages that are coming to fruition hundreds and thousands of years after the fact.

The testimony of the witnesses of the gold plates:

The Testimony of Three Witnesses

Be it known unto all nations, kindreds, tongues, and people, unto whom this work shall come: That we, through the grace of God the Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ, have seen the plates which contain this record, which is a record of the people of Nephi, and also of the Lamanites, their brethren, and also of the people of Jared, who came from the tower of which hath been spoken. And we also know that they have been translated by the gift and power of God, for his voice hath declared it unto us; wherefore we know of a surety that the work is true. And we also testify that we have seen the engravings which are upon the plates; and they have been shown unto us by the power of God, and not of man. And we declare with words of soberness, that an angel of God came down from heaven, and he brought and laid before our eyes, that we beheld and saw the plates, and the engravings thereon; and we know that it is by the grace of God the Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ, that we beheld and bear record that these things are true. And it is marvelous in our eyes. Nevertheless, the voice of the Lord commanded us that we should bear record of it; wherefore, to be obedient unto the commandments of God, we bear testimony of these things. And we know that if we are faithful in Christ, we shall rid our garments of the blood of all men, and be found spotless before the judgment-seat of Christ, and shall dwell with him eternally in the heavens. And the honor be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost, which is one God. Amen.

Be it known unto all nations, kindreds, tongues, and people, unto whom this work shall come: That Joseph Smith, Jun., the translator of this work, has shown unto us the plates of which hath been spoken, which have the appearance of gold; and as many of the leaves as the said Smith has translated we did handle with our hands; and we also saw the engravings thereon, all of which has the appearance of ancient work, and of curious workmanship. And this we bear record with words of soberness, that the said Smith has shown unto us, for we have seen and hefted, and know of a surety that the said Smith has got the plates of which we have spoken. And we give our names unto the world, to witness unto the world that which we have seen. And we lie not, God bearing witness of it.

Okay, that's interesting. But where did the plates go after they were handled and witnessed by these people?

Fulfillment of Bible Prophesy:

Ezekiel 37:15-20
15 The word of the Lord came again unto me, saying,
16 Moreover, thou son of man, take thee one stick, and write upon it, For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions: then take another stick, and write upon it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and for all the house of Israel his companions:
17 And join them one to another into one stick; and they shall become one in thine hand.
18 And when the children of thy people shall speak unto thee, saying, Wilt thou not shew us what thou meanest by these?
19 Say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel his fellows, and will put them with him, even with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in mine hand.
20 And the sticks whereon thou writest shall be in thine hand before their eyes.

The stick of Judah is the Bible. The stick of Joseph/Ephraim and all the house of Israel his companions is the Book of Mormon. They are in our hands and before the eyes of the world.

Once the translation was completed the golden plates were given back to the angel and now in the possession of our God. A huge portion of the plates were sealed and contain the hidden mysteries of God since the beginning of the world. At some future time the sealed portion will be revealed.

There were no golden plates. Mr Smith made the whole thing up from whole cloth. He is surely burning in Hell right now.

The "history" revealed in the Box is total nonsense. DNA testing has proven conclusively that no indigenous people in the Americas has Semitic ancestry. There were no cattle, oxen, camels, or horses in the new world. No iron, no WHEELs. There was never any language known as "reformed Egyptian," and no reason why any Semitic people would record anything in any such language. Smith's folly was proven definitively with the fiasco of the Book of Abraham.

All religion is nonsense, but the Book of Mormon is PROVABLY nonsense.

LDS is pathetic.

Obviously, there was iron ORE in the Americas, but smelting of ore into usable iron was unknown by even the most advanced societies on these continents. And this is a HUGE point. The natives had no means of making durable blades or products, and NOTHING that could fight successfully against iron swords. Iron swords and implements are mentioned prominently in the Book of Mormon.

And the Amerindians had not discovered the WHEEL. There were no carts, no carriages, no CHARIOTS in the new world (as described in the Book of Mormon).

The Amerindians had NO DOMESTICATED ANIMALS...not their fault...but no indigenous animal was amenable to training for doing work...as mentioned in the Book of Mormon.

The videos above are just NONSENSE. They are the product of people determined to find something, then insisting that they have found it, regardless of the facts.

Joseph Smith was a fraud, a serial adulterer, and a self-aggrandizing egomaniac. Brigham Young was no better.

There is an interesting parallel in our own time for Joseph Smith. The person who called himself, "The Honorable Elijah Muhammad" founded a phony sect of Islam in the U.S., based on his claims of having lived with some divine character, who told him to found a religion. As with Smith, all of his claims and nonsense were disproven after his death (and before his death), and even his sons abandoned the charade that has now come to be called, The Nation of Islam.

But for Joseph Smith, there is just too much inertia. Too many people professing the bullshit-faith that he founded, so they can't just quit and admit what foolishness it all is. In more recent years, they are claiming to be a form of Christianity, which is even more of an abomination (the claim) than the religion itself. Sorry, but Jesus Christ didn't teach, claim, or believe that we could ALL BECOME GODS in the afterlife if we lived a good life, which is what LDS teaches. Among many other sacks of nonsense.

As for "citizenship," LDS is a "good" religion, as it encourages its followers to work hard, be honest, pay their taxes, and remain in intact families. But theologically speaking, it is among the worst of many bad religions, and one that is provably false. You can speculate about what might or might not have happened thousands of years ago, but it is clear that in 1830 a huge scam was brewing in upstate New York.

And science has never been wrong and new evidences have never come out that have changed scientific thought? I will be patient in regards to the forthcoming evidences.

Most people, including Atheists, believe provable nonsense. E.g. compare Mormon claims about Indians to any claims by libtard Atheists about fags, blacks, etc. They say fags are born that way when there's no DNA support (and, contradictions from twins who share the same DNA, but not sexual preferences). They say blacks are born equally intelligent, even though lower IQ has been linked to specific genes.

No Mormon is as stupid as Evangelical supporters of Israel. E.g. these people claim Jews are a race, even though no DNA distinguishes any Jew from non-Jewish populations, even though the jewish claim of being Jews is unrelated to DNA but to religion, even though Evangelicals themselves know that people become Jews by conversion, even though DNA shows Jews to be of every race, even though no Jew has genealogical records to link them to a jewish race, and even though the Bible says the house of Israel has been made desolate.

(Alleged jewish DNA just shows some Jews have middle-eastern ancestry).

The Book of Mormon is the book spoken of in Isaiah 29.
Bullcorn. Jesus said His church would endure forever. There was nothing to restore. The Church today is the same church from the Day of Pentecost.
