How do we fix our problems as a nation?

Might sound sexist, but if we went back to the day's when women stayed home and ran the households while men worked, a whole multitude of problems would be solved. IMHO feminism has killed the American family. and yes I realize that many people just have no choice but to have two working parents, but that could be dealt with to.

It's not feminism that's the problem. Doesn't have to be the woman who's at home. We just need the average household to once again be able to succeed on a single income so one parent can be home.

It's economics, not gender politics.

But who then is going to pay for the massive welfare/warfare state?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

.

Don't allow Hispanics to become the majority of the American population

. When did we become a country of people where everyone thinks they know everything even in the face of evidence that they are wrong?

HUH?

Are you the same guy who claims that TSA Stormtroopers do not violate the 4th and 5th Amendments?

When did we become a country of people where everyone thinks they know everything even in the face of evidence that they are wrong?

.

When and if the Court rules that they are violating your rights, I will expect them to cease and desist, unless and until that point, you are on the wrong end of that argument, a place I'm sure you're quite used to being. End of story.

And I see no way you could POSSIBLY grok that the TSA is violating your 5th Amendment right to not be tried for a major crime without an indictment.

I have a STRONG feeling that under my plan you would NEVER get to vote.

Most importantly I think as a nation we need to focus on the REAL issues. Enough of the birthers/deathers(?), the Bush being a war criminal, blowjobs in the oval office, etc.

The more we talk about issues that quite frankly don't really affect us-the more we're digging a hole for ourselves. ALL political parties are to blame for this lack of focus on the important issues.

Pointing fingers/making stuff up and running with it doesn't solve problems. It's causes more by diverting attention to meaningless shit.

Seriously, the way to fix our country is to collect all the liberals and put them in reeducation camps where they will be taught simple logic, genuine American history and the evils of socialism.

I'd like to see some serious discussion here. Let's not think through a partisan lens. Let's pretend there are no such thing as Democrats or Republicans. Let's pretend there is no such thing as Liberal or Conservative (or libertarian) or anything else you might think up.

As human beings, how do we fix the problems our nation faces?

First, I think we need to determine what the main problems are. Tell me what you think our biggest problems are. And are they symptoms of something else or the source of other problems?

Second, should we solve them through government or by acting as individuals?

Third, Tell us some of the ideas that we can impliment in our own lives to fix the problems our nations faces.

1950s: higher marginal tax rates, more unions, more prosperous America

care to try again?

Really More Unions and higher tax rate is what made America better?

Wouldn't the 1920's contradict that? Oh, and the 1930's-1940's???

That has less to do with anything that the morons who rallied to capitalism and 18h-century British Free Trade.

We need to go back to rejecting capitalism and embracing Social Democracy.

I can agree with that. I only specifically said feminism because it just always has been the norm that the woman stayed at home while the man worked. Now certainly i propose no law that says a woman can't work or any such thing.

I will say this though, it is my OPINION that generally women are the better nurturers and better suited to raising a family in a stable and loving environment while men have their own strengths that are better suited elsewhere, but certainly every situation is different.

I just think it's a win win if one parent is at home while one parent works. Not only do you get the benefit of a parent at home to raise the family you also shrink the workforce considerably driving up the need while lowering the supply of labor which would obviously raise wages.

Not if you had a clue what you were talking about.

Number one problem: We can't talk about our problems without acting like children.

A freeman can easily conclude that allowing federal agents to uncover evidence of wrongdoing is a clear violation of the Fourth and Fifth Amendments.

Slaves and sheeple need the federal bureaucrats to recognize it.

I'd certainly nationalize the oil industry. Here where I live the utilities are regulated by the state and as a result our energy costs are pretty reasonable. I reject the notion that it is okay for an oil company to make a $3B profit in one year as Americans struggle to afford a tank of gas.

There is a fine line between capitalism and socialism that must be met in a country as big as our in order to have a healthy economy.

End all the wars we're currently in.

Adopt an isolationist view on foreign policy. We should only go to war if we've been attacked (or an ally), or we're under immediate severe danger. We need to start minding our own business-it's cheaper, and is better for us as well.

Reform (but not totally get rid of) Unemployment pay and welfare. Some people really need them-too many are abusing them. Crack down on the abusers with stiff penalties.

Raise taxes on the richest 5-10% temporarily-until we can get out of our debt. And before people jump all over me-this would raise my taxes.

Give tax breaks to companies for keeping jobs in the US, instead of outsourcing them (not really sure how to actually implement this in all honesty-just think it's a good idea).

End oil company subsidies.

End the war on marijuana-we spend way too much money on cracking down on something that's not as bad as tobacco or alcohol.

On a non-economic level:

Follow the constitution more closely. Specifically the bill of rights, and restore the rights that have been slowly taken away from us over the past couple decades.

End abortion.

Cut back on number of people on death row, by making stricter qualifications to get there. But still using it for those who've committed the most brutal crimes-and have DNA evidence against them.

Legalize gay marriage.

No national offshore drilling implementation-I think this should be a state issue, and should be voted on by the citizens of the state in question.

Just off the top of my head.

Good list, but do you mean "end Abortion" or no Government funding it? I also dono about raising taxes on the rich as you might not mind but Others will. I just don't see the revenue from higher taxes on the rich panning out like some want it to, they will hide and shift their money and shrink their business’s, that's just reality.

Rebuild our factories and supply ourselves with our needs.

Grow our own crops.

One language.

Fix welfare. Assist those who need the help but put a time limit on it.

Protect our borders better.

Anyone caught employing illegals should pay via their pocket book where it hurts the most.

Political parties not down to just two major ones.

Get rid of 3 strikes law and make it 2.

All illegals deported.

No more anchor babies.

Just some suggestions.
Of course you are aimed in the right direction. But in order to achieve any of your goals, and more of the same kind, our Congress must be sterilized, which will take a revolution.

Elections must be financed with public money and it must be illegal for any public official to accept money or any form of gift or service from anyone for any reason. Only then will we have statesmen in political office rather than the political prostitutes we have now. Only then can we move in the direction you've proposed.

Briefly stated, things must get a lot worse before they can begin to get better. But whether or not we can survive the kind of heat it will take to cleanse our badly infected system remains to be seen.

Financially start with the following

A) Get rid of income tax in favor of a national sales tax at the retail level.
B) Gut the IRS appropriately.
C) Anyone who has earned over $100K a year for the last 10 years of their working years is NOT eligible to collect any of their social security that they have paid in over the years. Thank you for your contributions, but obviously you don't need the money.

again, just the start.

Socialism is not a system. It is a stage of development.

There's no such system as 'socialism'.

I advocate a decentralized federation/confederation of semi-antonymous member States working together under a system resembling social democracy.
