A montage aired by MSNBC’s Alex Wagner on Tuesday exposed House Speaker Mike Johnson’s (R-La.) hypocrisy over the GOP’s push to impeach President Joe Biden.

Wagner aired a supercut of clips from 2019, when Democrats were preparing to impeach then-President Donald Trump over his effort to extort Ukraine, in which Johnson repeatedly said the Founding Fathers “warned against a single-party impeachment” because of the division it may cause in the country.

Ya well, what did you expect from Moses Johnson? Let em do their thing. They obviously think it's gonna level the playing field for the general election. The Senate isn't gonna convict. Meanwhile Trump has embraced the dictator brand and this impeachment circus is just gonna confirm that narrative.

I don't think the base cares about dividing the country. They're "at war". So the division is already there, the lines are already drawn, in their minds. Their uniform is one color, the rest of the country's uniform is another color. They know they'd have to "rule" from a minority, so they need to "win" their "war" and completely disable their perceived "enemies".

This is biblical for them. Good vs. Evil. They agree when Trump calls it "the final battle". They're now completely conditioned to conflate wild hyperbole with "Truth". So, he feeds them words like that, because he knows they'll take them literally.

The Democrats don't appear to understand this. It's an entirely asymmetrical contest right now.

However, the outcome of which means, that if ONE party impeaches a member of the other party for a perceived infraction, then the other party feels no need to defer to the perceptions of that party, and will in-fact impeach that other party's president for ANY perceived infraction without a second thought.
