They wouldn't even let the Senate-passed bill come up for a vote, they just walked out of the chamber, the House Repubs did. They control the agenda, so this can happen. Obama tried a 1 year extension back in the fall, but that was rejected by Boehner & Co. Then, they tried to attach all sorts of poison pills including a controversial pipeline that would possible wreck the environment.

So Mitch (one term Obama is my goal) McConnell got a signal from Boehner that they would approve a 2 month extension and talk when Congress reconvenes just to get this out of the Holiday season news-- So McConnell delivered, the Senate passed the bill 89-10, with 30 Repub Senators voting for it. And then... surprise! The House comes up with the flimsy excuse that they need a 1 year, not a 2 month extension.

I watched a bit of Fox last night (not enough to vomit) and heard them talking the same crap, about how a 2 month extension isn't good, and the Dems and Obama are at fault. Well, even Repubs like John McCain and Bob Corker have spoken out that they are outraged that the House won't vote on this bill. The Murdoch-ruled WSJ came out with a searing editorial against the House Repubs. But there they were on Fox, spewing their lies.

And now, the result is, that 160 Million Americans will see about $40 less in their paycheck in 2 weeks.

Now here's an anomaly! Mitch McConnell siding with Obama in imploring Boehner & Co. to vote on and pass the Senate tax cut extension bill. This won't happen again, folks!
