These clowns just can't get out of their own way.

Hey, I can understand (not really) if the GOP is willing to take stands (like making massive cuts to Medicare) which won't make them beloved among a great number of people who count on programs like Medicare.

But to do something like this (refusing to pass the stop gap payroll tax deduction compromise) when it will just make average Americans hate you because their taxes will go up after the first of the year? This is just plain stupid.

But it is also instructive, and the American people are watching. And I guarantee you they don't like what they're seeing. Do you think average Americans are going to want to go to the polls and vote for these guys?

    I don't think so.

Good for the GOP and thank you Boehner. The tax cuts for the bottom 50% has to stop. We need to increase taxes on those non contributors, not decrease them. Too many don't participate, too many in the cart and only a very few of us pulling the cart.

It's Dems who took out 500 Billion from Medicare.
Your payroll tax is what funds Medicare and SSI
So don't blame the Repubs blame the Dems.
Payroll is you the worker who is paying for your Health and Retirement for your old age.
Payroll is not a tax per say, it is your investment for your old age, along with your employer who pays for that.

Funny how things work ,whats even more of a gas,the same people howling about the payroll tax, have been singing the gotta end the Bush tax cuts, when if they are let to end,the same tax brackets that must have the payrool tax break!! will be hit with the largest tax increase of them all,so how do you resolve this example of pretzel logic??

The two month extension was paid for. The year long extension is not.

Maybe they don't like the fact that the dimwits in the senate led by the chief dimwit reid trying to force them to pass something that might be wrong, then the dimwits leave and want people to believe them, well idiots would believe them. Good for the house sticking to their guns.

No, I wouldn't. I know enough to know if the dimwits are touting it, it sure isn't good. I also belive none of them in D.C. are out for our interests, I just will never support democrats for their socialistic views and support for abortion and gay marriage.

Personally, I think tax cuts are irresponsible anyway, if one really does care about deficit reduction. These guys are still dicks, though, because it's obvious their only reason for doing this is not wanting to compromise in any way shape or form with the President or the Dems.

They wanna be fuckin' assholes, let 'em. This will be just one more reason for people to vote against them next year.

Imagine having to veto a bill that would create hundreds of thousands of jobs. Wouldn't want to be in that position and face an electorate with raging unemployment.
