Hollywood lefties/Will Ferrell making movie that mocks Reagans alzheimers; sick.

Why doesn't Hollywood do a movie on the Monica scandal....showing how Hillary did all she could to protect her husband and undermine the truth? Do it just prior to the election too.

Oh yeah....never happen.
Good God! It is NOT a movie. It is a proposal for a movie. Grow up!

Ahh, fuck the Left. They HATE that Reagan called their hometeam an "Evil empire" vowed to defeat them and tosed them on the ash heap of history before he left office
The USSR dissolved in Dec.1991, after Reagan left office two years earlier in Jan. of 1989. Some hot coals were left in the ashes anyway. The Cold War didn't really end. It was just put in hibernation. Reagan worshippers like to ignore the fact that the Soviet Union didn't dissolve until after he left and President GW Bush began the withdrawal of significant military forces from Europe.

Nice revisionist history, but yes Reagan in fact did oversee the demise of the USSR, regardless of the fact that it didn't actually dissolve until after his term.

How desperate do you have to be to come up with that weak of an argument?

So bankrupting them with the arms race had nothing to do with it? The shit you idiots cling to in order to preserve your beliefs....

Heroine is a choice. Alzheimers is not.

Selective outrage is a choice. For as much as you gas on about the ills of politically correctness you sure do not seem have a problem with it when it is politically convenient.

That's really the entire ball game right there. Idiots on the left, and the right, are only concerned with THEIR rights. In this case, freedom of speech. Big deal some has been is making a comedy about Reagan in a desperate attempt to make a few more bucks before no one cares about him anymore. If you don't like, don't go see it. DUH!

But then the left needs to remember that the next time someone says something THEY don't like.

People take these actors and comedians too seriously.
They take themselves too seriously.

Indeed. That was Bucs' response when mothers were complaining about SNL's heroine addict skit.

Heroine is a choice. Alzheimers is not.

The claim was made that when Reagan left the USSR was in ashes. That is a factually inaccurate statement. They still had a huge array of conventional forces and a large nuclear attack force of submarines. You can debate the influence of Reagan to topple the USSR, but saying the USSR was in ashes when he left is factually incorrect. Herbert Walker Bush had to put the finishing touches in before the USSR was willing to let Eastern Europe leave the control of Russia and dissolve itself.
The Pope played a larger role than Reagan anyway. Margaret Thatcher played an equal role to Reagan's, or at least a role that made Reagan's efforts possible.

Now you're making shit up. Who said Reagan left them in ashes? The arms race is what killed them, they couldn't keep up. It was expensive for us but money well spent for all freedom loving Americans. The pope only used words, helpful yes but the commies didn't bow to the church.

It's all the libs have. They can't defend their steamy pile of shit so tearing down Republicans is the only hope of looking a little better.

Farell sucks, I never saw him do anything funny and quit watching any movie he was in long ago. It's thoughtless juvenile stuff, not my brand of humor
What happened to your sense of humor.....why so PC all of a sudden?

Frank implied the "ash heap" in post #25 and the Pope had eastern Europe, starting with Poland marching, demonstrating and striking before Reagan even got into office. Before it was over there were bloody riots in Eastern Europe and people burning themselves to death at the Kremlin. The people of eastern Europe give shared credit for bringing down the USSR.

they should call these lib/progressives: regressive

they haven't a new idea in over the 45 years I've been voting. and Farrell hasn't had a funny movie EVER. loser

He couldn't make one mocking Obama for supposedly being a black man?

Oh, a poster here is what you argued against when you said the claim was made. But no protester would have stood a chance against a strong USSR.

I do not mean to imply Reagan did not play a significant, perhaps the most significant role in bringing down the USSR. I just think his role should be kept in perspective. It is a controversial and hotley debated issue and much depends on where the debaters are from. It is rare, however, to find all the credit being given so solely and emphatically to Reagan anywhere but in the USA by fanatical Reagan worshippers.
