You look at he composite numbers of related poll questions and it simply doesnt add up.

Some 70% think the country on the wrong track.

Self-identifying conservatives are 40% of the electorate, and 35% are moderates. Trump is way ahead on moderates/independents and conservatives give him 77%. Assuming that 5% of democrats are also voting Trump, that gives us 2% + 20% + 30% and Trump should be in the vicinity of around 52% of the vote, so something down around 40% is simply lala land.

But the numbers dont add up because the polls are not being done with the intention of reflecting likely election outcomes. They are morale building exercises now and totally unreliable except to show generic movement in the electorate.

Eventually people are going to get completely sick to death of hearing the media lies and start tuning it out altogether until two weeks before election day, late October.
