No, the problem is that Conservatives have no economic policy that works. So when their policies inevitably fail, they blame everyone except for themselves and their policy for it. What Bush did was wreck the prosperous economy handed to him by Clinton, then papered over that failure with promises about tax cuts paying for themselves. They didn't. Spending isn't a problem, the problem is that you all cut revenues under the false promise that cutting taxes would lead to more growth. Clearly, it doesn't.

Dems, including Maxine Waters, Barney Frank, and others, lined up to insist that the regulations were fine and that there was no problem with Fannie or Freddie.
