There are at least 5 things wrong with this statement, so let me break them down:

1. Reagan was not for limited government as he increased government spending by 69% from 1981 - 1989
2. The Clinton budget Newt agreed to ended up with $300B more in spending than Conservatives wanted.
3. Clinton raised taxes in 1993, which you Conservatives said would destroy the economy (SPOILER: It didn't)
4. The only tax cut Conservatives passed were the 1997 Capital Gains Tax Cut which caused the dotcom bubble.
5. Clinton vetoed a Conservative tax cut in 1999 that would have erased the nascent surplus. That tax cut would be passed in 2001 and are referred to as The Bush Tax Cuts. The result? The erasing of a surplus, a loss of 460,000 net private sector jobs, an economic collapse, and a doubling of the debt.

No, it was thanks to the Democratic Congress Clinton had from 1993-1995 that increased taxes, added regulation, and poured money into research and development. Gingrich and the Conservatives passed only one major piece of legislation; welfare reform. Welfare that today Conservatives still complain about despite reforming it 20 years ago. SO what that means is either you all were bullshitting about reforming welfare in the 90's, or you're bullshitting about welfare today. So which is it?
