I have a friend who was in charge of such decisions for a 500 person company. They figured out they could save millions of dollars doing just that. Plus the lower paid employees would end up with better benefits thanks to government subsidies.

From what my Office Manager has told me, they might lose the BCBS policy my corporation currently offers them which has a $350.00 individual deductible and a $700.00 family deductible and is accepted by every hospital and medical provider in the city and have to take one that has limited acceptability and much higher deductibles. I hate it for them but I will do whatever my Office Manager and accountants tell me is in the company's best interest. It won't affect my own policy though because the corporation pays the premiums on my policy.
