After a week of especially heavy criticism, Hillary Clinton is defending the hefty price tags on her university speeches.

In an interview with ABC Friday, Clinton said she has given every penny of the thousands of dollars she's earned giving paid speeches over the last year and a half to her family's charitable foundation.

"All of the fees have been donated to the Clinton Foundation for it to continue its life-changing and life-saving work. So it goes from a foundation at a university to another foundation."

Clinton makes an average of $200,000 for each paid speech she gives.

The post-prez perks for all former occupants of the White House are excellent. And it's not that Hillary gets these high fees, as they all do. But the screw up was Hillary's handling of the question. She's very out of touch.

I remember the video of her trying to commune with commuters at a convenience store in early 2008. She didn't even know how to get the soft drink machine to work. She simply didn't know how to put the paper cup against the metal lever and push to get a Coke.
