Help. I think someone is possibly faking service

I'm on an online chat app, and I have a friend who says he serves in the Air force in Qatar as a communications specialist.

He says that he is often in the field fighting isis in some form or another, and that a while back his convoy was attacked by ied and he lost a fellow service member and friend. Only thing, he posted a pic saying his friend took it, of a bloody Gore spattered Humvee with gatorade bottle lying everywhere.

I thought it was odd so I Googled, and voila, picture from 2006., He'd have had to have been serving at 16. So my questions:

Was said attack possible given his position? And do Airmen see combat like he says? I am Technically his friend, but I don't buy the story. Also, he says they won't release when or where it happened. How common is that. I believe he serves.. but i think he is pandering for sympathy in the worst possible way.
Thank you for any help and replies.

OH NO!!! You're not telling me someone would lie on the internet, are you? I never heard of that happening before, except for the guy here that lied about three of his sons being killed in the military. Of course, he has a massive IQ, so I guess that's to be expected.

I know, but I simply want to be able to call him out on it. I think, even though I know he serves, the way he is garnering attention is disgustings

Why are you associating with him then?

It is a Nigerian scammer.
The dating sites are loaded with fake profiles. They steal Facebook profiles.

I'm not anymore really but a lot of more gullible people buy it, some I like. I'm just asking if anyone can factually refute what he says

If anyima looks at my original message... Can anyone please give me some guidance on where this guys story is bs? Please?

Sometimes in real life, guys buy a uniform at the Army Surplus Store, make up a service record and then go to the bar or wherever in their military clothes and pretend to be a vet and sometimes a hero.
It's kind of sad, actually. I saw a thing about it on tv.

It makes me so mad! I have a good mind to fly my private jet out to find him. With my 180IQ and my Golden Gloves experience, I could find him and teach him a lesson. :D

Pick me up in Monoco on the way through. I'm kind of tired of hanging out with the Royal Couple and could use a short break.

If he really is in something that makes the brass feel nervous and guilty then official histories will be edited. What he is claiming to be is a forward air controller and if he is telling the truth to you he is also leaking intel to our opponents. Report him to the Air Force on the off chance that he is telling the truth.

You have to watch out for those guys. They're really Time Lords in disguise looking for that rouge time element.
