Have things gone wrong?

There are two leading views on this subject. The first view proposes that nothing has failed. That everything is as it should be. That the hardships we face are tests.

The second view proposes that a great many things have gone wrong and that God insists on putting them right again.

Upon closer inspection one can argue both views aren’t really different views but that the first view is a subset of the second view with the exception of course that things really have gone wrong.

What say you?

It's a fallen world, my friend. So much for perfection.
Is it though? Or were we being told something else?

I've heard different views on that. One was that being God's creation, this Earthly world was just as perfect a creation as Heaven. And that the notion of a fallen world was introduced in order to get people to believe the afterlife was in something else, like Heaven. But you had to jump through all sorts of hoops and ladders. Kind of a societal control mechanism.

I tend t owithold my personal beliefs, just because they're personal, but I've heard and read different discussions about it.

Back i nthe day, I used to really get into the religon debates elsewhere on the web. Those days have passed, though. I lost interest in it. It's one of the most depressing things to debate or discuss. It's like war, a feller has to armour up. Gosh does it get mean spirited fast.

One thing I know for sure is that evil people control the daily workings of planet Earth. And they make most everyone's life a miserable hell.

I believe the distinction is about our uniqueness in creation. No other animal has knowledge of good and evil. It is a wholly human concept.

What exactly does Genesis tell us about perfection?

It’s beyond your depth.

- as an extract from your belief in a forged document is what is mindless - conforming to a fallacy for your answers.

No other animal has knowledge of good and evil ...

they certainly have, all beings have a fluid knowledge of life and their pursuits for the greater good.

Does the lamb believe the wolf is evil? No. They don’t have knowledge of good and evil.

You are like the wolf.

Only good men know just how bad they are. Bad men don’t have a clue.

The wolf isn't evil, just hungry.

A goody, a thread where half wits like myself (compared to God) get to pretend to be God.

Well sheep, what will be a better shepherd, God or some human half wit socialist fruit cake?

Those are your options.

Some people don’t pretend, they just act like they are God.

But this is the role of the collectivist.

Since they don't believe God exists, then the position needs filled, so they come up with various schemes to "save" us from ourselves.

Hence the push towards globalism to centralize power so the entire globe will be forced to do such things as limit pollution and ration natural resources and control population levels, etc.

Now we must all await our collective salvation.

“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. They may be more likely to go to Heaven yet at the same time likelier to make a Hell of earth. This very kindness stings with intolerable insult. To be "cured" against one's will and cured of states which we may not regard as disease is to be put on a level of those who have not yet reached the age of reason or those who never will; to be classed with infants, imbeciles, and domestic animals.”

C. S. Lewis

As a student of history, I'm tickled to death to have been born when and where I was; everything else is small stuff. I'm even more tickled that I survived so long as well, given all the close calls I've had and where I've been.

Collectivists aside, the question is was it ever really perfect at anytime?

Perfect as in sin free?

I reckon before the prince of darkness fell.

Interestingly, according to the book of Enoch it was during the second "day" of creation.

Perfect as in people’s perception of the garden of eden.
