Before this decade is done, EV's, cars, trucks, motorcycles, will be wiping up the road with ICE's. I suspect that the batteries that come out of Musk's new factory will be more powerful than what is on the market today, and that will just be the beginning of the increase in storage capacity. Already the Tesla has changed the equation on acceleration, style, and quality in EV's.

Harley has tried to appeal to the younger crowd with Buell and the V-Rod. Buell, the division that built "sport bikes" is gone and V-Rod sales are piss poor in the US, though they do well overseas.

An electric bike??? Yeah maybe it will sell in Europe, but I doubt if it will do too well here.

You speak of the demographic. Yes Harley Davidson riders tend to be older, though I've been riding them for 45 years.
That demographic may not be so much age as income and resources with a bit of heredity tossed in.
My grandfather and father before me rode HDs I own 3 now My oldest son owns 3, my youngest son, 1 and a GSXR and my daughter rides a Sportster. They're all in their 30's and are making 6 figures.

Living on the north short of Long Island, in my town, every Sunday like clockwork for as many years as I remember, a group of somewhere around 40 Harley's roll in around 11am and are there until late pm. You just don't see people downtown strolling the streets wearing urban wear......ever. The rift raff is effectively discouraged by these guys.........very effective........not much needs to be said. Defiant types learn the hard way and local police give a tip of the cap!!!

Dollar to a million stale donuts not one will be riding into town on a silent gliding Harley........zero % chance. Think about it......ask 100 American males, if they had their preference, a new '15 Ford Mustang 5.0 or a '15 Chevy Volt, which one would they chose? Two or three might say the Volt because there is a % of oddballs out there after all......the arrogant omnipotent types we all know.
