An aside ... According to the FBI website, in 2011, there were 12,999 homicides in the United States of America. That is a higher death toll than inflicted on our troops in the Afghanistan War since it's start!

And still, the rabid right will not even consider laws to make it difficult for crazies and criminals to get guns.

Laws don't seem to do much to make it difficult for criminals to get guns. But guns in the hands of responsible citizens can save innocent lives. Not to mention, serve as a great aide in protesting outside Capitol Hill.

Likely because few on the left will consider it either. Democrats can recognize a losing issue, and stay far away from it accordingly.

Guns don't kill people. People kill people with guns. If there were no guns at all, people would find some other way to kill people.

There are laws to make it difficult for crazies and criminals to get guns. Sometimes you can't tell crazy and the criminals don't obey the laws when acquiring a gun.

We can play the statistic game all day but until the left calls for the Attorney General to be indicted for authorizing the gun running of 3,000 illegal weapons to Mexico we know they aren't serious about the issue.

Link please. Were these murders all committed with firearms? You are aware there are 340 Million people in the US and around 300 million weapons in private hands.

Care to do the math on the percentage of murders to people or guns? You are suggesting that we should lose our rights because an insignificant percentage of people were murdered with firearms.

How many murders were committed with clubs, knifes, hands and other assorted instruments? How many people died last year due to vehicle accidents?

We have laws on the books already that make it ILLEGAL for crazy people to buy guns, as well as criminals. We have THOUSANDS of laws on the books making these purchases illegal. Why do you think another law would suddenly work better then the ones we already have?

“Gun Control” Doesn’t Work

Studies by or for Congress, the Department of Justice, the Congressional Research Service, the Library of Congress, the National Academy of Sciences, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have found no evidence that “gun control” reduces crime, suicides or accidents in the U.S. or abroad.
More Guns, Less “Gun Control,” and Less Crime

There are more guns and gun owners in the U.S. than ever. During the last decade, “gun control” has been significantly reduced. The federal waiting period on handguns ended in 1998, in favor of the NRA-supported national instant check. Congress refused to renew the federal “assault weapon” and “large” magazine ban, allowing it to expire in 2004. Congress and 33 states have prohibited frivolous lawsuits against the firearms industry. Forty-two states have Right-to-Carry, and 48 states prohibit cities from imposing gun laws more restrictive than state law. From 1991 to 2010, the total violent crime rate declined more than 47% to a 37-year low, and the murder rate declined by 51% to a 47-year low. Both declined more than seven percent more in the first half of 2011.

Firearm Safety

NRA’s 73,000 Certified Instructors and 12,000 Law Enforcement Instructors reach over 800,000 people annually. NRA’s Eddie Eagle GunSafe® Program has been used by more than 26,000 schools, law enforcement agencies, and civic groups to reach more than 24 million children since 1988. The accidental gun death rate has declined 94% since 1904.

Criminals don't buy guns from gun shops. they don't buy them or obtain them from anybody where they are going to need a background check. Hell, drugs are illegal, too, but millions of people still manage to get them.

To any anit-gun nut, here's a newsflash. If I really want to kill somebody, I am NOT going to use a gun - something that can be so easily traced. I've really got too good weapons at the ends of my arms that would do the trick just fine. I'd fine some method that is not easily traced. I think pushing off a cliff might work.

When will the left ever get it through their thick skulls that criminals don't follow laws?
Criminals will always be able to get guns no matter what.
The left will not allow laws for the crazies to be put away for treatment.

If guns didn't exist at all anywhere in the universe, is the only way gun deaths would go down.
