30% of all federal workers are soldiers and military contractors. Just stop jumping on sovereign nations which have done us no harm and we can balance the budget without raising taxes on millionaires. 'Course no good Republican would ever consider doing either. They like to spend and borrow.

National defense.. a constitutional charge of the federal government... entitlements and agencies, etc not listed in the specifically laid out powers of our government, are not...

Hands off the defense industry, they work very hard and risk their lives to protect the bottom lines of all of our valuable "job creators".

"The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;"

No.. they are not... General welfare of the United States... hence the union... not the personal well being of every citizen

Then why did Bush fight the wars off budget:

"According to the CBO, defense spending grew 9% annually on average from fiscal year 2000-2009. Much of the costs for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have not been funded through regular appropriations bills, but through emergency supplemental appropriations bills. As such, most of these expenses were not included in the budget deficit calculation prior to FY2010.
