Minnesota wind farms are nearing the fail point. Wind generation and the lack of base load power generation capacity to take care of the system, when the wind no longer blows, is nearing the Australian Province failure level... Way to Go Minnesota liberals... The political retards there have doomed the grid and has forbidden outside "dirty" energy. They can not support their power grid efficiently or continuously now... And here comes winter... This is going to end badly even after spending over 15 Billion to put up massive wind farms... And now federal subsidies are gone...

For those who don't know what happened in Australia, here is a little reminder as to how the whole province crashed not just once but 7 times in a three week period during winter wind storms.

What caused South Australia's state-wide blackout?

One of the problems with wind power is when the wind blows to much or too little the turbines shut down and do not produce. Add minor damage to transmission lines and you kill the whole grid.

And now Minnesota has fallen victim to liberal stupidity too.. I guess its to late to fix it in the dead of winter when your people are freezing to death..

In a morbid way, I want the grid there to fail.. I don't want anyone hurt or to die but this is the only way that the stupidity will be exposed and those pushing it will be thrown out of office.. The green party in Australia is set to be expelled next month during voting... The people are damn mad... I guess this is the kind of failure that needs to happen to get the people who are asleep to wake up..

And the main goal of reducing CO2 emissions.... Nope... NO CHANGE..

from the essay;

"As explained in Section II, Minnesota’s primary
energy policy goal is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions
by 15 percent by 2015, 30 percent by 2025, and
80 percent by 2050. To date, Minnesota has not come
close to meeting these goals. In the latest biennial
report to the legislature on greenhouse gas emissions,
state agencies found that greenhouse gas emissions
“decreased slightly, about 4%, from 2005 to 2014.”
That is far short of the 15 percent by 2015 goal.15 To
reach greenhouse gas emission reduction goals, Minnesota
might pay lip service to a broad-based strategy,
but, in reality, the strategy focuses almost entirely
on reducing emissions from electricity generation.
This strategy is failing and will continue to fail."

By their own measures the 15 Billion dollars spent was for nothing.. It increased power rates and took money from families who could ill afford to have less monies. And now their power grid is unstable... way to go grennies...

Well yessir, the way they went about it, it does.

Is it any surprise to anyone that the nations that jumped into the green energy with both feet, germany and australia are now regretting their decisions in the worst way?

Tesla wins giant battery contract in Australia, has 100-day deadline

SYDNEY (Reuters) - Tesla Inc (TSLA.O) has won an Australian contract to install the world’s biggest grid-scale battery, in what experts say will be a litmus test for the reliability of large-scale renewable energy.

South Australian Premier Jay Weatherill (R) listens to Tesla Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk speak during an official ceremony in Adelaide, Australia, July 7, 2017 to announce that Tesla will install the world's largest grid-scale battery in the South Australian state. Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk, known for his bold approach to cars, clean energy and space exploration, trumped dozens of competing proposals to build the gigantic lithium-ion battery that will serve as emergency back-up power for South Australia - a state racked by outages.

And we already have the technology to solve that problem.

Wind and solar are going to be the energy of the future. Backed up with grid scale batteries, they will be 24/7, and deliver energy at a cheaper price per kw/hr. They are both scalable to fit any situation, and require no infrastructure other than the grid.

BWhaaaaaaaaa.

They think the TELSA battery is going to help them? LOL.... this is going to be a colossal failure.. And people are going to die because of it... These batteries have the same problem that phone batteries used to have and they blow up... One good spike charge and the whole system will go up in smoke... Is there lightening in Australia?

On Twitter, he summed it up in one chart, first spotted by Mother Jones. It compares the IEA's predictions about solar energy adoption (measured in gigawatts of capacity added annually) and historic data about solar energy adoption since 2002:

I made a graph showing the historic track record of the IEA in predicting solar: reality steeply increasing but IEA is having none of it.

Every year, the organization assumes that solar's growth rate will be linear, rather than increasing exponentially as it largely has for over a decade.

One chart shows how solar energy growth is skyrocketing compared to predictions

Solar is winning, compound interest type growth. Double digit at that.

Another false Hockey Schtick... LOL... People all over the US are ripping this crap off their homes due to failures, fires and insurance costs... I see your not addressing those who are feeling ripped off and ripping them off their homes..

Wow. That report is pretty damning.

All the technical failures we thought would happen are happening. And they want to double down on it now... Its going to take people dying to get these idiots thrown out.

Ah, found your peer level, and the type of 'journal' that you get your science from, Mr. Westwall? When the present price subsidies are gone, there will still be a boom in windmills. For, even without the subsidies, they produce wind at a cheaper rate per kw/hr than does coal or natural gas. In the meantime the treasonous fat senile old orange clown is considering outright grants to the coal companies, in addition to the subsidies they already get, to keep them going. LOL

Wind power has failed everywhere it has been tried yet you still refuse to see that.

The failure of nuclear power has been especially impressive. It hasn't just failed in the USA, so the Trumpflakes can't fake a story about how those darn environmentalists are to blame. It's failed over the whole planet. In the past 1.5 years, construction has started on precisely 4 new nuclear plants worldwide. That's nothing.

In contrast, green energy is booming worldwide.

So, why is green energy crushing nuclear? No nation on the planet has figured out how to run nuclear cheaply, while green energy is cheap. It's entirely a matter of economics. Nothing is going to change that, especially not the vaporware miracle reactors that have been just around the corner for the past 20 years. Yeah, yeah, that's right, those Chinese pebble bed reactors will be game changers!

Coal, of course, has failed just as hard. The war on coal has concluded, and coal lost. Nothing is bringing it back either, simply because of economics.

The conservative solution for the failure of their favorite obsolete technologies? MORE GUBMINT SUBSIDIES FOR COAL AND NUCLEAR. A bunch of raging socialists, those conservatives.

Solar produced almost all of the energy used by my properties in Coronado, Ca.

What I have always stated that green should start at home where each home has solar, but that impacts the profit potential of energy producers, thus we have so much false information pertaining to green energy where corporations are formed to serve the investor.

If wind had not ever produced any energy you'd be correct, but it has, and your wrong.
