We spent our money playing Hall Monitor In the Middle East, and look how well that's going for us. Trillions of dollars spent, and we are in a WORSE position than we were in 2001.
The problem with trying to squeeze the last drop of petroleum out is that, eventually, you get to that last drop. Within 50 years, the world will be out of fossil fuels. We can either invest in clean energy alternatives, or we can have a rude awakening in 50 years.

You won't be saying that in a few years when biden has our power plants shutdown and people are freezing to death because there is not enough electricity to heat their homes. Even Mexico is building more coal power plants because green energy won't supply the need.We've had 50 years to switch to green energy. None of this technology is new and some of it is quite old.

Civilization exists on the cheapest energy out there. Oil companies take near the same percentage of profits whether gasoline is 2 dollars a gallon or 6 dollars a gallon. And yes, they do have their own interests like most corporate entities. Except for war interference on prices, our politicians interfere also on prices.
