Spain was poorer than Mexico in the 1930's...It was Franco who helped propel Spain into a First-World nation, in the Spanish Miracle.

Germany had the best tech during WW2 because they invested in it, they also rebounded much quicker than the Capitalist Britain, or Capitalist U.S at the same period.
