GOP-led House set to vote against health care law

So the GOP would rather waste time by posturing with this go-nowhere legislation then to actually put their time towards actually getting something done? Seems to be that they are more concerned with being able to "look good" over produce actual results. Style over substance should be their new party slogan.

It's not a waste of time. You're correct that it won't be effective in getting it repealed, however, by passing repeal in the House it makes it clear they aren't messing around about their intentions. It opens the door to modifying the legislation so that the really bad parts of it are fixed with the cooperation of the Democratic Senate and the President. In fact, Obama announced just a few days ago that he is willing to fix things with the legislation, so it's already working.

In the end, though, anything short of full repeal is going to hurt all of us because the law was designed to cause health insurance costs to continue rising.

The pre-Obamacare world is what we had before. And it was far preferable to the inordinate bureaucratic goat-fuck the last Congress passed.
Go GOP.

Of course if they didn't do this the Libs would all be screaming how the GOP is a bunch of hypocrites and liars.

What do you mean would be? Still got your head up your ass, I see. The GOO IS a bunch of hypocrites and liars. Oh, and add showmen to the list, as this is political theater and noithing more. They know it and you all know it.
And the dimwits are socialists, you know it, if you don't you are a idiot...oh wait.

Can anyone say "hypocrite"? I know the GOP can!

Dumbshit, the promised a vote on repeal and now they are delivering it. How is that hypocritical? If they hadn't done that you would be accusing them of being hypocrites too

No, they promised to actually repeal HCR. Instead, you're just getting the T-shirt and like the morons they are, the teabaggers are thrilled
Yeah, and the socialist left was thrilled when the biggest spending and gov't control bill in the history of the U.S. passed. Socialist idiots. GO GOP!!!!!

The healthcare bill will not be repealed, simply because the Insurance lobby paid good money for the bill.

But don't worry, there will still be nonsense like this, to keep the wingnuts happy.

So then why dont they come to the table with a plan as opposed to just scraping the whole damn thing? Why...because they have no plan.

Sure they do - Turn em loose. The GOP is a wholly owned subsidiary of the insurance industry. No wonder all their big ideas are to eliminate consumer protections.

Well, the GOP had plenty of ideas, Obama didn't want to hear them. Obama said, "I won, we are doing it my way." Now the GOP won and now Obama is saying, "Can't we all get along?"

Screw Obama. GOP won. GOP will now do it their way and Obama can sit in the back of the car.

Why do they have to come to the table with another plan? The fact that it was a poorly written, destructive legislation is the only reason needed for repeal. Despite that, the GOP has introduced plenty of ideas over the past two years, but you knew that already, so stop with the dishonest talking points.

They are pushing for full repeal because what did pass is such a convoluted mess that nobody understands it, we still don't know all that's in it, businesses don't know how to deal with it, etc. Best to ditch it and start from scratch piece by piece.

Dishonest talking points? That's interesting, because to call it destructive legislation without mentioning any of the positives that it does bring to the table which DO help millions of Americans and business seems like a pretty dishonest talking point. It's FAR from a perfect plan, but to just say repeal the whole thing is useless and a waste of time because it will never happen.... an you know that, so maybe you should be honest here and agree that changing the legislation with improvements instead of scrapping it altogether without a new plan is a waste of everyones time.

Mommy....Why do Republicans want to take away our healthcare?

Couldn't agree more.

They need to scrap this mess of a bill and start over. They need to keep whats good and work on another bill. We all want reform. The cost is the problem with HC and any new bill needs to address that issue.
