GOP-led House set to vote against health care law

So then why dont they come to the table with a plan as opposed to just scraping the whole damn thing? Why...because they have no plan.

Why do they have to come to the table with another plan? The fact that it was a poorly written, destructive legislation is the only reason needed for repeal. Despite that, the GOP has introduced plenty of ideas over the past two years, but you knew that already, so stop with the dishonest talking points.

They are pushing for full repeal because what did pass is such a convoluted mess that nobody understands it, we still don't know all that's in it, businesses don't know how to deal with it, etc. Best to ditch it and start from scratch piece by piece.

Couldn't agree more.

They need to scrap this mess of a bill and start over. They need to keep whats good and work on another bill.

Dumbshit, the promised a vote on repeal and now they are delivering it. How is that hypocritical? If they hadn't done that you would be accusing them of being hypocrites too

No, they promised to actually repeal HCR. Instead, you're just getting the T-shirt and like the morons they are, the teabaggers are thrilled
Yeah, and the socialist left was thrilled when the biggest spending and gov't control bill in the history of the U.S. passed. Socialist idiots. GO GOP!!!!!

Oh I dunno about the 'socialist' left but there is a significant number who think the bill doesn't do enough, so I don't think they were all thrilled.

Well, the GOP had plenty of ideas, Obama didn't want to hear them. Obama said, "I won, we are doing it my way." Now the GOP won and now Obama is saying, "Can't we all get along?"

Screw Obama. GOP won. GOP will now do it their way and Obama can sit in the back of the car.

Sorry champ the GOP has control over 1 chamber of Congress. They are unable to stop it yet. Perhaps they too should compromise to make the changes better.

How many resolutions condemning the Iraq War did the Pelosi Congress pass? And they had it perfectly in their ability to cut off funding and stop the war any time they wanted.
So don't yammer about theater, pal.

IIRC, the number was ZERO

Your memory is on a par with your other mental skills.

Not one resolution condemding the war. Nice list too. Shows how superficial the reps really are.

So the GOP would rather waste time by posturing with this go-nowhere legislation then to actually put their time towards actually getting something done? Seems to be that they are more concerned with being able to "look good" over produce actual results. Style over substance should be their new party slogan.

It's not a waste of time. You're correct that it won't be effective in getting it repealed, however, by passing repeal in the House it makes it clear they aren't messing around about their intentions. It opens the door to modifying the legislation so that the really bad parts of it are fixed with the cooperation of the Democratic Senate and the President. In fact, Obama announced just a few days ago that he is willing to fix things with the legislation, so it's already working.

Case and point

WASHINGTON (AP) — Senate Democrats don't plan to join the House in voting to repeal the massive new health care law, but they do want to eliminate a small portion of the law that is unrelated to health care.

Three Senate Democrats wrote House Speaker John Boehner Thursday, asking him to pass a bill repealing a new tax filing requirement for businesses. Starting in 2012, nearly 40 million U.S. businesses would have to file tax forms for every vendor that sells them more than $600 in goods.

Yeah, modifying portions of the legislation makes sense. I'm all for modifying and improving. But to vote on simply repealing the legislation as a whole is pointless.
