I always wondered why they dumped Pontiac and kept Buick. Guess they must have felt that Pontiac served the same demographic as Chevrolet and Buick with Oldsmobile.

Sorry bout that,
1. I was wondering out loud why Pontiac got the axe?
2. Makes for a wonderful topic.
3. Could be he was killing off a brand he didn't like?
4. Or was there something deeper, deep rooted that he wanted to eliminate?
5. Makes me wonder?

Here are the answers to your questions:
1. Because they made shitty cars.
2. Similar topics would be, why did GM axe Saturn and Hummer?
3. Obama's racist white grandparents drove a Pontiac.
4. When he was a child, Obama's racist white grandparents made him wash and wax their Pontiac every week.
5. Obama didn't like Hummers because they were gas hogs. Makes me wonder why he didn't like Saturns. Maybe because they were built in Tennessee?
The Aztek. Pretty much killed the brand by itself. None of its cars were doing well.1. I was wondering out loud why Pontiac got the axe?[/
not really.2. Makes for a wonderful topic.
Why do you think Obama, personally, had anything to fo with GM's decision?3. Could be he was killing off a brand he didn't like?

What is this thread............?
What I am bummed about is they dumped Saturn as well, and the long term extra warranty on the Saturn was void.
Not that I needed the thing. It is a good car. But the warranty meant I got free oil change, tire rotate, etc.
You just cant trust businesses to live up to their contract.
That is why the US govt needs to be run like a business.
GM dumped Oldsmobile under the Bush administration.
I wonder why?

I'm going with (Q) #3. Obama's racist white grandparents drove a Pontiac. (A) Now Obama found out what the acronym PONTIAC stands for so they got axed.

1. I think GM or Obama Motors made a huge mistake axing Pontiac, they should of brought back the GTO of the 1960's done a *Retro GTO* that would of been *HOT*!!!!!!
2. Not unlike what Dodge has done with the *Challenger*!!!

You just cant trust businesses to live up to their contract.
That is why the US govt needs to be run like a business.
Do you mean running a profit or running a loss?
The government isn't capable of being run like a business...haven't you noticed?
Tax payers will never have the status that of a shareholder because the government knows that the tapayer can't sell their investment.
And they can't fire the beauracrats that run the show.
