Give a man a fish

See your "job creator" class, you people are expensive and capital has needs.
I’m not a business owner and I don’t believe in open borders.
Guess you got sold out.
I did.
Perhaps you should consider withholding participation in and cooperation with a system that sells you out.
If Trump didn’t enter the race I wouldn’t have voted for President.
Both established parties are scum.

Voting for Don was supporting the very thing you decry. So would voting for Hillary have been.

Do we really need ancient cliches to understand that jobs are important? The ironic thing is that the cliche is allegedly based on an old Chinese proverb.

So it would be outdated, since the new Chinese way is "We take your pond and distribute from those according to their ability, to those according to their needs."

'Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime."

To me, this quote appears to be the political line between lefties and righties. What does this quote mean to you?
It means you're a racist!

Teach a man how to fish

Isn’t that the Liberals who are fighting for access to education?
Isnt it liberals fighting for free and low cost higher education?

It is conservatives looking to abolish the Department of Education and allow higher education only for those who can afford it

Liberals are always "fighting" for something or other. We'd probably take you more seriously if you weren't so angry and aggressive.
Liberals stand for Truth, Justice and the American way

Dude, seriously? :laughing0301:

Superman is a Liberal
Batman is a neoconservative.

What platform did Trump run on?
I bet you don’t know.

How does that “fishing thing” work in this country anyway?

Those who do the fishing get to keep only one percent of the fish they catch.
Those who own the pond keep the remaining 99 percent of the fish
What does what the 1% theoretically has in comparison to you have to do with whether or not your basic needs are met? Hypothetically, if that one percent vanished overnight - you would own the same things which you do already (excluding benefits transfers).

According to economists such as Johan Chang and others, "absolute poverty", as in famine or starvation is virtually eradicated in the West, what exists is "relative poverty", or what one imagines they have in comparison to other.

In this sense, it's meaningless except in abstract comparisons - a lower middle class American is "rich" compared to a Hindu residing in 3rd world conditions, while a Hollywood star is "poor" compared to Warren Buffet or Bill Gates, whose net worth are more than the net worth of all Hollywood celebrities combined.

We live in a country where nobody starves to death and even the poorest among us have $1000 smartphones which they use to record street brawls and upload them to the internet.

Jesus was a fucking commie socialist.

You don't know Him very well, do you...
But Jesus replied, "It is not right to take the children's bread and toss it to the dogs."

Does that sound like socialist Jesus or racist, tribal Jesus? Those Christ referred to as dogs was 99% of mankind. He came here to salvage the Jews alone. The faith of one Gentile woman changed His mind:

But Jesus replied, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.” “Yes, Lord,” she said, “even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table.” “O woman,” Jesus answered, “your faith is great! Let it be done for you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour.…

He came here to save the Jews. He ended up saving us all.

How about sticking to the OP for a change...
Hey Metro, welcome, and I believe the motivation behind the quote is that it is better to teach one to be self reliant than be dependent on the actions of others... :)

He handed out fish and loaves love.

Give a man a fish, feed him for a day, teach a man to fish, feed him for a lifetime.

Conservatives add this line:

Take his fish away from him, tell him he's lucky just to be alive, and he'll find a way to catch another one for you to take tomorrow.

Not from a tRumpling.

I see by all the resentment, that a lot of lefties here don't know how to fish. I fear that if I taught a couple lefties how to fish, they would fish the pond dry and demand a ride to another pond. They would probably demand that I teach ALL the lefties to fish, and to provide them transportation...

True.

Good paying jobs, people becoming self-sufficient require training and education – training and education conservatives oppose, training and education conservatives refuse to fund.

Conservative fiscal dogma is fundamentally hostile to the ‘teach a man to fish’ metaphor.

The percent of college-educated in America only increases:

Simultaneously, more and more college graduates report being underemployed.
