Germany has such a long tradition of liberty, the US really needs to pay attention

OK this is not Germany as in the country it's one guy in Germany who is very likely a leftist whom you would otherwise despise if he happened to be protesting anything else. Also a goon squad showed up promptly and shut him down which is kind of fascist in itself. I am encouraged by the general German response to the NSA revelations, they reacted correctly, unlike Americans who could not drag themselves away from their phones long enough to give a shit.

Germany does a really good job of protecting the privacy of it's citizens, no doubt about it. Good luck trying to get any of Germany's privacy laws passed with our system of government. Those paying our congressmen (lobbyists & special interest groups) would never let it happen.
