Gallup Today: Obama 46% Congress 14%

...and he paid for ignoring the electorate's concerns with an ass kicking at the ballot box.

Really?

Seems President Obama won a mandate in the 2012 election, while Democrats gained seats in both the House and Senate.

We'll take that type of 'ass kicking' any time!

Kindly explain what happened in 2010 if people were happy with what Obama and the Progressives were doing with their super majorities. You're one of the more oblivious posters on here when it comes to political history or you'd know that the 2010 Mid-terms were historic in the political shift that took place. It was one of the biggest swings from one party to another in modern political history.

The "mandate" that you seem to think took place last year was a mole hill compared to the mountain that occurred in 2010.

2010 was a freak year for Republicans ... it's history ... and will never repeat itself ....
Like the wreckage Bush left ... it will take time to erase the errors of 2010

And Congress has no power to block ACA, shut down Government, or block debt ceiling increase.

The Congress does indeed have the power to shut down Government. They control the purse strings.

Whether they do any of the things you mentioned is questionable. The ACA will eventually collapse under it's own weight. It was sold to the American people with made up numbers put forth to hide it's true costs and what going down this road will eventually do to our national health system.

The bottom line is this...Barack Obama and the Progressive wing of the Democratic Party do not have a CLUE how to govern. If they were given their way the economy would be tanking even worse than it is now and our debt would be pushing us one step closer to yet another credit downgrade. The question conservatives now have to ask themselves is whether they want to fight Obama's agenda for the good of the country or just step back and let the Democrats hang themselves on their own petard.

Under the Constitution .... IF the Congress has the votes.

And a 14% Congress has 14% voting power ....

None

Nada

Dude...the 14% figure is an "approval rating"...that has NOTHING to do with what the Congress can and can't do. Please tell me you're not this stupid...

Neither Boehner nor McConnell have the votes to change the Capital Building coffee shop hours.

They don't have the votes .... for anything except to repeal ACA 40 times and go on another 30 day vacation ....

The House does indeed have the votes to do many things...what they don't have are the votes in the Senate nor do they have the votes to overturn a Presidential veto which is a moot point because Harry Reid has been obstructing most of the legislation sent to him from the House for the last two years.

Today: Gallup has spiked Obama approval to 49%, while Congress remains mired in 14% job approval.

Barack Obama is clueless when it comes to economics...his entire Administration is mired in scandals from the State Department, to the IRS, to the Department of Justice...and his foreign policy is so confused and disjointed that we're about to walk into a confrontation in Syria because Assad doesn't think Obama has the balls to back up the "red line" he drew in the sand about the use of chemical weapons.

Why anyone is giving this President "approval" is beyond me. It's amateur hour at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and has been for 5 years now.

Besides repeal ACA 40 times and go on another 30 day vacation?

What might that be?

For starters the stack of over 40 pieces of legislation that were passed by the House that Harry Reid will not let come to the floor of the Senate for discussion. Those bills are gathering dust on Dingy Harry's desk while the economy flounders. Why not at least allow them to be debated in the Senate and voted on?

But you still think it's the Republicans in the House that aren't passing bills...right? (eye-roll)

I would strongly suggest reading a decent newspaper so you're not so completely ignorant about what's going on with your government.

He's so in love with Barry he can't see the forrest for the trees.

He might want to consider what is going to happen when the Fed stops pumping money into the system. You know, all that unbacked money?

Hey hey maybe you can explain what good it does to propose and vote on legislation in the House that is for sure going to be shot down when it hits the Senate. Are you and your kind just all about the "symbolism" of governing. Or does the T party ever intend to "do" something worthwhile? Like get a piece of worthwhile legislation passed.

A lot of legislation is passed by both parties, it's just not reported. :eusa_shhh:

You know what, Zeke? If the legislation coming from the House was being debated on the floor of the Senate and then voted on, you might have a point. The sad fact is that Harry Reid has enacted a one man "freeze" on whatever bills come from the House that he doesn't agree with. What makes it sad is that the reason he's not allowing them to come to the floor for discussion and votes, is that he doesn't want to put his fellow Democrats in the politically untenable position of voting down legislation that would help put Americans back to work. That's the reality of what's happening in the US Senate for the past two and a half years but you wouldn't know it from listening to the main stream media. If you listened only to them you'd think that it's the GOP that isn't doing anything to pass legislation to put the economy back on a path to recovery.

The House has passed nothing into law that Democrats don't agree with.

Nothing ....

I miss driveby, he is one of the few liberals who come to this Board and sticks a finger in the eye of the tea party.

A solid progressive liberal ....
