Al Franken Admits In His New Book That He Faked Apologies To Save His Political Career.

In his new book “Al Franken, Giant of the Senate,” released in May 2017, Franken explains that he has managed to keep his head above water with these past controversies by giving fake apologies.

Franken eventually apologized for his crude remarks, but he later wrote in his book, “Al Franken: Giant of the Senate,” that he faked the apology to get the necessary support for his election win, according to the New York Times.

“To say I was sorry for writing a joke was to sell out my career, to sell out who I’d been my entire life,” he wrote in the book. “And I wasn’t sorry that I had written Porn-o-Rama or pitched that stupid Lesley Stahl joke at 2 in the morning. I was just doing my job.”

He added: “I learned that campaigns have their own rules, their own laws of physics, and that if I wasn’t willing to accept that, I would never get to be a senator.”

This revelation should be disconcerting to those who are considering giving him another chance in the Senate while the majority believe he should resign.

If he faked his apologies the 1st time...are we to believe his 'sincerity' now? :p

Was this new 'self-realization' a product of his understanding of what he did wrong...or his 5th victim coming forward?

Hey Stewart Smalley, 'don't let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya' on the way out, as the saying goes.....

Why would you object to that? You voted for Trump.

...btw, it is being reported that John Conyers is going to announce his resignation in January....
--- Report: Conyers to announce retirement in January - Hot Air

WTF?

This guy sexually harassed / assaulted women for DECADES, created a system in Congress where a committee steals tax dollars, and pays politicians' victims of their sexual crimes for their silence using those tax dollars, and now wants the 'luxury' of being allowed to announced he is 'stepping down'?

Conyers should be PERP WALKED out of Congress...TODAY....not allowed to 'retire' in JANUARY!

And let's not forget that after Conyers 'retires' he is going to walk away with THOUSANDS of more tax dollars per year.

He should be told he will get NO retirement money from the citizens of the United States, as his expected pay will go back to the American people to repay all their money stolen to pay his victims off!

We catholics know, an apology has three essential elements:

You are truly sorry for what you did (and wouldn't do it again if you had a chance to do it over),

You accept responsibility for your actions, and

You resolve never to do it again.

None of these is true in Franken's case.

Most public apologies are motivated by "sorrow" that you got caught, which seems to be the case here.

Such an apology is not worth the paper it's not printed on. Utterly worthless.

Which is not to say that I think Franken ought to resign. Being an asshole is not sufficient grounds. If it were, Congress would be out of business.

when is Donald resigning for grabbing women by the genitals and watching 15 year old girls get undressed?

when are you hacks going to stop supporting a child molester in Alabama?

until those two things happen, the only ones who care about what you have to say are your fellow swamp dwellers.

That’s up to the voters to decide, isn’t that right, trump voter?
I would not vote for Moore, if that is what you are asking, and everyone must vote their conscience. 'I am not a big 'fan' of the argument that one should vote for one candidate over another if both are Pieces of Fecal Matter, as was the case in 2016.
