Fossil fuel production on federal land at lowest level in 9 years.

Yes, it's a lie, all right. The ad definitely wants the viewer to credit Obama.

Well... Then point out where it says that Obama made it happen.

so you seem to have taken a pass on or not seen my question for you that I asked earlier, so I will go ahead and re-post it for you;

if you had or do have; would you encourage your children to frame statements in this manner?

Let me see if I understand your position, "Under my administration..." blah blah blah he wasn't trying to take credit, he was impartially stating facts.
And impartial statements of fact are so prevalent in campaign ads.

No, they said it for a specific reason.

His political opponents, as you well know, have been claiming that the price of oil has been rising due to a lack of productivity.

This ad is meant to disprove that.

It's a pretty simple concept really.

And, again, they never claimed it was him that caused the production increase, just that it increased.

 Uh huh.

Our refineries are exporting gasoline. They don't have lower prices here to sell product because they can sell it overseas.

They are importing crude and then exporting the result because they have excess capacity. It has no connection with domestic production of oil or the local price of gasoline, you dumb fucking nimrod.

It has a LOT to do with the local price of gas. If they can export it they don't have to try to sell it here. That decreases supply here.

It's the same price no matter where they sell it. Gas costs more at the pump in Europe only because of all the taxes those socialist Utopias impose on their consumers.

I do have children, and...

If someone made a blatant falsehood in an attempt to smear their reputation...

I would indeed encourage them to counter said falsehood with factual information, yes.

no, I not asking you for an argument in mitigation, because thats what you just offered, the vid and his statement we have discussed please.

yes, or no.

yes, or no.

No, see, you don't get to ask a question that's based on a false argument, and then demand the answer to be a straight yes or no.

I answered yes, based on the circumstances I described, because those are the cicumstances.

And.... Just so we're clear...

The right-wing machine has been attacking the Obama administration, blaming him for high gas prices, knowing perfectly well that he has little-to-nothing to do with said prices, based on a set of false parameters.

And now you all are complaining because the Obama campaign launched an ad that made perfectly truthful and factual statements, because you don't like what you believe that factual ad implies.

Now that is rich.

Remember when Obama blamed the Bush administration for high gas prices?

I do.

You're an even bigger moron than NYCaribeaner. No one knows there is oil on any given acre of land until they drill a well and oil comes up. You can't drill until you have a permit.

End of story.

Oil companies drill thousands of dry holes every year.

My father was a pretroleum geologist, so I know a thing or two about the oil business. On the other hand, you're a complete fucking moron who doesn't know jack squat about it.
But that doesn't explain the stupidity in paying the expenses of securing 6,500 EXTRA unnecessary permits to drill a few exploratory wells!!! Since we can assume that the oil companies are not as stupid as CON$erviNutzis, they are either paying for permits where they already know there is oil and are holding back on digging the wells, or they are paying for permits for exploratory wells they have not dug yet.

I don't think they can do exploratory wells until after the permit is approved. Don't know what the cost is for getting the permit is either, but I think it only lasts for 2 years. So, it becomes a business decision, expected costs vs expected returns. The Obama amin is delaying ther approval of permits AND making it more costly and difficult to drill due to new EPA rules.
This is a perfect example of how CON$erviNutzis cling to their lies even in the face of the truth. After being shown that the Obama administration was 6,500 permits AHEAD of the oil monopoly using them, the CON$erviNutzi simply repeats the lie that the Obama administration is delaying approval of the permits.

The Obama administration is approving permits FASTER than the oil monopoly can use them but to CON$ that means Obama is holding up approval. :cuckoo:

BTW, those permits cost $6,500 EACH!!!

Wrong. Unlike Obamabots, I can think for myself.

Give it shot. It's fun!

The fact remains pissant. This thread is based on a lie, and all you and your ilk can do is attack those who provide the proof.

What lie? Fossil fuel production on federal lands are down, Obama does not control what happens on private/state lands. Two simple statements that are both factual. If they aren't, feel free to prove either, or both, wrong.

The lie, is your claim that Obama lied, when in fact he told the truth. Oil production is up under his watch.

In 2008, domestic production of crude was 4.9 mbbls/day. 2009 it was 5.4 mbbls/day. 2010 it was 5.5. 2011 it was 5.7, which is the highest level since 2003. You also may note that domestic production was down each year under Bush.

Care to source that claim?

His source is a brain: something you don't have.

Do you know anyone who owns a piece of the Gulf of Mexico?

So you can't source the claim either. No matter. Oil production was still up last year, and for the first time in many decades, the US was a net exporter of oil. Sort of makes the whole presumption of this thread look like some nit wit talking out of his ass, and ilk lapping it up as if it made sense.

He has a brain and I don't? Puleeeeessssssssssssssse.

It's a lie.
Do you want to go toe to toe on this or do you want to back out gracefully.

I'll do you till the end darlin.

You sure you want to do this?

Oh spare us your confused by Obama Derangement Syndrome nonsense.

Yield is down on Federal lands?

That is in the nature of aging oils fields, isn't it?

Meanwhile overall yields coming out of oil found in USA are way up.

US Demand is way down.

Prices are spiking anyway because of speculation.

Trying to clame that on OBAMA or any POTUS, is of course, the confused thinking of people who are either quite stupid or simply politically dishonest.

So you're saying Obama was right, and that's how you can now justify blaming Obama for the same.

For all those pathetic lib dingleberries out there who actually thought they were going to carry off the wide-eyed, disingenuous "He wasn't taking credit. He was just commenting on it" line, let me cheerfully - one might even say gleefully - put paid to THAT for you, as well.

“Anybody who suggests that somehow we’re suppressing domestic oil production isn’t paying attention,” Obama said in Cushing, Oklahoma, where TransCanada Corp. (TRP) plans to begin building the southern segment of its Keystone XL oil pipeline.

At Ohio State, Obama emphasized to a cheering student crowd that since he took office in 2009, "America's dependence on foreign oil has gone down every single year."

"Even as the economy was growing, we've made progress in reducing the amount of oil we have to import because we're being smarter, we're doing things better," the president said.

:clap2: Obama is undeniably taking credit.

Of course, that won't stop the Troo Beleevers from denying it anyway.

See, you are trying to give him credit too.

Tell me something, since you like to claim he approved all those drilling permits, how many new wells were started on those permits? How long did he shut down all production in the Gulf, even after two court orders to allow drilling?

Fact: The XL pipeline requires an international treaty. If Obama didn't want it to happen, it wouldn't happen.

Fact: Under Obama demand has decreased. Two reasons for that is greater use of renewable sources for electricity generation and better technology in hybrid vehicles. Both policies of this administration.

Fact: No where is he taking credit for an increase in domestic production, which is the point "pathetic lib dingleberries" made to show the lies of the pathetic con dingleberries on this thread.

So why did domestic production go down every year under Bush and up every year under Obama?
