Fossil fuel production on federal land at lowest level in 9 years.

OK:

1. That link doesn't work. RealClearPolitics apparently didn't have the licensing for the link they used.

But,

2. If you look at this link:

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LG0evk8Iad8]U.S. Oil Production is Up: President Obama's Energy Record - YouTube[/ame]

Which does work, it specifically does not credit President Obama's policies.

It specifically says that "Oil Production is up under President Obama" and then goes on to tout his proposed energy strategy.

Misleading? Perhaps, if one doesn't actually listen to what is said.

A lie? No, not at all.

so when he tells a townhall we are drilling like crazy and production is up, how would you classify that statement?becasue your 'explanation' is pretty thin, I 'listened' to WHAT was said, misleading? perhaps??????? really? perhaps??please...

Not misleading. It's factually based, with no lies of omission. What it does put to lie is the GOP talking point that gas prices are high because Obama has cut production.

Why would oil companies want to increase output and push down prices at this point?

Did Americans stop buying gas when it hit 4 bucks?

You could open every square inch of the US for oil drilling and what will the drillers do? They'll find the oil, drill it, cap it, and sit on it. They'll dole it out just enough to meet demand without driving down prices as long as people are buying.

That's an interesting point. Most states are losing money these days because of more efficient vehicles. Our collective oil consumption is lower today than it was 40 years ago. But we're less than 10% of world demand.

Our refineries are exporting gasoline. They don't have lower prices here to sell product because they can sell it overseas.

Not misleading. It's factually based, with no lies of omission.

its always interesting and generally sad to see just how from someone will go to guild a pile of horsehockey.

in your terms then, gross- mischaracterization is a word/term that should be pulled for the dictionary.

What it does put to lie is the GOP talking point that gas prices are high because Obama has cut production.

oh but it says that though........your desperation is sad, seriously.

using raw number, obviously the number of barrels has gone up since the population has increased.

but the percentage of world oil the US uses has actually gone down due to more fuel efficient cars and better technology.

so technically you are both right, depending on how you look at it.

excuse me, technically? we are not using less than we were 40 years ago. he didn't couch this in terms of per capita use.

Uh huh.

Yes, it's a lie, all right. The ad definitely wants the viewer to credit Obama.

Our refineries are exporting gasoline. They don't have lower prices here to sell product because they can sell it overseas.

They are importing crude and then exporting the result because they have excess capacity. It has no connection with domestic production of oil or the local price of gasoline, you dumb fucking nimrod.

It has a LOT to do with the local price of gas. If they can export it they don't have to try to sell it here. That decreases supply here.

The president is right, and you are full of shit.

Not true, he boast about oil production, but those where started under GWB on PRIVATE LAND!

He has done everything to stifle drilling on public lands for 3 years and that is why oil prices are where they are!

Kindly reconcile your baseless opinion with the fact that for the first time in many decades, the US was a net exporter of oil.

Kindly keep your facts straight, we are exporting more gas than we consume, not oil. Are you as confused as Obama about the difference?

And Obama had ZERO to do with the exportation...that was his predecessor Dickface...and Obama is taking credit for it.

I'm suprised he didn't shut that down as well.

*Idiot*

Is production higher than it was previously, or not?

Simple question.

Obama never "took credit" for it. He simply pointed out that critics, like you, who claimed that production was down, were either incorrect, or lying.

Let me see if I understand your position, "Under my administration..." blah blah blah he wasn't trying to take credit, he was impartially stating facts.

And impartial statements of fact are so prevalent in campaign ads.

if the GOP told you the moon was really red, you would believe them.
Wrong. Unlike Obamabots, I can think for myself.

Give it shot. It's fun!

The fact remains pissant. This thread is based on a lie, and all you and your ilk can do is attack those who provide the proof.

What lie? Fossil fuel production on federal lands are down, Obama does not control what happens on private/state lands. Two simple statements that are both factual. If they aren't, feel free to prove either, or both, wrong.
