Time to bury this boy:
"Welfare recipients take out cash at strip clubs, liquor stores and X-rated shops
Welfare recipients took out cash at bars, liquor stores, X-rated video shops, hookah parlors and even strip clubs where they presumably spent their taxpayer money on lap dances rather than diapers, a Post investigation found.
A database of 200 million Electronic Benefit Transfer records from January 2011 to July 2012, obtained by The Post through a Freedom of Information request, showed welfare recipients using their EBT cards to make dozens of cash withdrawals at ATMs inside Hanks Saloon in Brooklyn; the Blue Door Video porn shop in the East Village; The Anchor, a sleek SoHo lounge; the Patriot Saloon in TriBeCa; and Drinks Galore, a liquor distributor in The Bronx.
The state Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA), which oversees the cash assistance program, even lists some of these welfare-ready ATMs on its Web site."

I'll be surprised if a right winger ever complains about corporate welfare. It's not part of the whining points they get from fox news.
According to John Stossel, the biggest welfare queens are farmers. Agricultural subsidies including direct payments, marketing loans, counter-cyclical payments, conservation subsidies, insurance, disaster aid, export subsidies, and agricultural research, taken together, have become one of the largest middle- and upper-class welfare programs in the nation.
a. Washington paid out a quarter of a trillion dollars in federal farm subsidies between 1995 and 2009, but to characterize the programs as either a big government bailout or another form of welfare would be manifestly unfair to bailouts and welfare. Did you know that John Stossel is a Fox reporter?
Wipe that egg off your face?
That is the official intent. The way the intent is circumvented is the stamps are sold or traded far below their face value in illegitimate transactions.I don't know.....maybe have food stamps available only for FOOD!
What do you think?
So you did some studying after my post? So why don't you and the other right wng whiners include others like corporations and the wealthy in your criticism? Because you hate the poor and worship the wealthy?
I had a lady offer to let me use her EBT card for $25 if I gave her $20, she asked me this right up in Walmart when I was in line, she had no shame. I told her no.

Give us an example of "corporate welfare," sparky.

Executive walks into a titty bar with ten clients. Runs up a $5000 tab and writes it off as a business expense
If they use EBT cards for stuff like porn, tattoos, jewelry and gambling casinos, either we are giving them too much and need to make cuts OR they are spending money on crap and not eating. If a parent is blowing the EBT money at the nail salon or fast food places, they are not feeding their children properly. We are just enabling idiots to be irresponsible. They blow all that money on stupid shit and then bitch because they want free birth control that they could buy cheap at Walmart.
It's clear we screwed up by trusting people with money. We need to put restrictions on the EBT cards that say they must only be used for food. No beer, no cigarettes and no porn.
This proves we are giving people more than they need. Providing food and housing to the downtrodden and disabled is reasonable, but not giving them all that extra spending money. Hell, most of us tax payers can't afford tattoos.
There is no true poverty in the United States of America.
That is, material poverty. But there is spiritual poverty, poverty of character.
And there is a virulent political philosophy that encourages taking, rather than earning....
...pleading and demanding based on envy.
Food stamps for those who need food, and cannot provide for themselves...an old and honorable heritage in America: "On January 6, 1657 twenty-eight Scottish men signed the Laws Rules and Order of the Poor Boxes Society in Boston, New England and formed the Scots Charitable Society."

But what the Left has made common is a blemish on the nation and the people...
1."Mass Gov. Deval Patrick Vetoes Ban On Using Welfare EBT Cards To Purchase Porn, Tattoos, Manicures Because It Would Humiliate Poor People No surprise hes a close friend of Barack Obama (Axelrod ran his first campaign for Mass governor).
2. Patrick vetoed the reforms Sunday while signing the states $32.5 billion budget.
3. According to the Boston Herald, which first reported the veto, the governor berated the legislatures stab at banning the purchase of specific items like manicures, tattoos, guns, porn, body piercings, jewelry, and bail by saying the move was political grandstanding at a time when such reforms are already on track elsewhere.
4. Im not going to do anything that makes vulnerable people beg for their benefits. This notion of humiliating poor people has got to be separated from how we make a program, and frankly separated and disposed of, from how we make a program work and work well, Patrick said,...
5. Patrick allowed bans on the use of EBT cards in establishments known for the sale of seemingly controversial items such as tattoo parlors, gun shops, casinos, cruise ships, and adult entertainment facilities - to stand."
Exposing Liberal Lies: Deval Patrick OKs Porn, Tatoos, Jewelry with Food Stamps
We live in a time when the welfare industry needs to convinced well-meaning folks that there is a 'need.'
Rather it is a 'want.'
Consider the above when you vote.
That is interesting
What do you think we should do about it?
1. I have often felt that food stamps should be reserved for purchases labeled as nutritious, but 'no-frills.'
No reason for those accepting 'Food Stamps' to eat better than those paying for the benefit.
2.Further, there should be government-sponsored church and other food kitchens available to any with a food stamp card.....no 'doggie bags.'
They are called 'Food Stamps" for a reason.
Wadda you think?

I think it's bullshit. You can only purchase food with food stamps. Some people qualify for cash assistance, not food stamps, which is provided via the EBT card. Some people will abuse the system. Live with it. It's part of the cost of the program. It's human nature. You have to ask if the good the system does is worth the cost in waste.
Herding hungry people into soup kitchens is draconian and demeaning. If the church actually did as the bible decrees, we wouldn't need a food stamp program. People who needed help would receive it anonymously and with good cheer.
If the banking system (read government, there is no difference) provided low-interest loans to people to start a viable business, purchase arable land, or train for a job that actually exists and that the recipient had the aptitude to do. we'd have a system that costs nothing and would work.
Instead, conservatives carp about minor abuses to a system that wouldn't be in place if we practiced what we preach.

My, what a stunning argument. Supercilious arrogance does not an argument make.
Conservatives give more to charity than liberals, so that absolves us of any responsibility to the poor? If the church met its ordained duty to the poor, there'd be no need for social programs. Unfortunately, it's populated with dour miscreants like you.
What a tight-fisted, superior little twit you are.
Hundreds of thousands of Masters degree holders, PhDs on food stamps
February 3, 2013
...
To give a point of reference as to how bad the situation truly is, there were fewer than 100,000 Americans with Masters degrees or Ph.D.s on food stamps in 2007, which means the overall number of people with extensive college educations on government assistance more than tripled in just three years. And if this trend continued at the same rate between 2010 and 2013, the total number of college educated on government assistance today has easily eclipsed more than half a million, and with no end in sight.
