More than 44 million Americans participated last year in federal government's low-income food assistance program, called SNAP, or the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. Last year, the average benefit each person received was just over $125.50 per month.

"Online purchasing is a potential lifeline for SNAP participants living in urban neighborhoods and rural communities where access to healthy food choices can be limited," USDA Secretary Tom Vilsack said in a release. "We're looking forward to being able to bring the benefits of the online market to low-income Americans participating in SN

Cool a lot of bulk food can be bought cheaper online. In small towns like this one one can't even buy organic grains. I realize that many of you think that basics should be the only available options for food stamp recipients and I would not have a problem with that if the basics are 'good clean food products'. Currently it is very hard to find grain products that are not tainted with herbicides. Surely y'all realized that if these corn babies will become more brain damage than they already are due to the inability of their systems to uptake nutrition properly. Glyphosate chelates minerals. The lack of those minerals means that little brains forming cannot form properly. It is the Pale Horse effect. Food has no sustenance and death follows. Cells die due to lack of nutrition. That occurs both physically and spiritually in case y'all had not thought about it.

As a Republican and a conservative, I say fuck these poor people. My parents have a ton of money and I'll always have food. Most of them are probably non-whites anyway.

Can it be immoral to simply tax the rich into Heaven and solve simple poverty at the same time?

I have a better idea. How about we take the the money from the defense budget?

In 2015 our defense budget was $598 billion and SNAP was $75 billion. Surely $523 billion would suffice, especially considering that the nation with the next highest military budget is China and they spent $145.8 billion.

In fact, at $598 billion, we spend as much as the next 10 nations combined. At $523 billion, we are still outspending the next 8 nations combined.

When you show me the word food stamps in the Constitution and things directed related to raising and supporting a military are going, you'll have an argument. Otherwise, what you're saying is increase spending on thing NOT in the Constitution and stop spending on things that are.

I have no problem with the military spending. It's a delegated power of Congress to do so. As for SNAP, the $75 billion is $75 billion too much for reasons I've already explained.

If you want someone that can't afford it to have food, buy it for them using your money. If you want to support kids that you didn't produce, do it with your money.
