Civil War better known as the War of Southern Rebellion:

The Truth About Florida?s Civil War History - The Daily Beast
That’s historical misinformation, and the official Confederate archives prove it. In his official report following the battle, General P.G.T. Beauregard sourly informed President Jefferson Davis that the results of the fighting at Olustee were “insignificant,” thanks largely to the fact that his own forces made “no serious attempt… to pursue” U.S. troops as they withdrew.

When asked why he and his men were letting the federal forces escape, one Confederate field officer responded: “Killing *******, sir.” A timely advance by black troops saved the day for the Union forces. As one white eye-witness put it, “The colored troops went in grandly, and they fought like devils,” suffering high casualties as they advanced. As white U.S. troops withdrew, the Confederates set upon the wounded American black men in uniform. In their eagerness to murder wounded blacks, the Confederates threw away what Beauregard called “the apparent opportunity of striking the enemy an effective blow.”

unconscionable rebel criminals.

If this was all about slavery, why did 4 slave holding states remain with the north? Why were their slaves not freed at the beginning of the war instead of well after the war? The Emancipation Proclamation exempted all slaves in Northern territory and all slaves in southern territory already under northern control.

Furthermore, the slaves in northern territory were freed by their states, not the union. Delaware was both the first and the last state to outlaw slavery. When they first outlawed slavery it was an economic disaster so they quickly reinstated it which may explain why they were the last state AFTER the civil war to free their slaves.

And of course the Thirteenth Amendment had nothing to do with it? Ending slavery was a state option, just like remaining in the Union?

infinitely shameful that US citizens would celebrate a victory against their own country and laws. What is wrong with those Derp-derps down yonder?

Obviously they did not feel as slighted as the treasonous ones did:

The General Government, as the common agent, passed laws to carry into effect these stipulations of the States. For many years these laws were executed. But an increasing hostility on the part of the non-slaveholding States to the institution of slavery, has led to a disregard of their obligations, and the laws of the General Government have ceased to effect the objects of the Constitution. The States of Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin and Iowa, have enacted laws which either nullify the Acts of Congress or render useless any attempt to execute them. In many of these States the fugitive is discharged from service or labor claimed, and in none of them has the State Government complied with the stipulation made in the Constitution. The State of New Jersey, at an early day, passed a law in conformity with her constitutional obligation; but the current of anti-slavery feeling has led her more recently to enact laws which render inoperative the remedies provided by her own law and by the laws of Congress. In the State of New York even the right of transit for a slave has been denied by her tribunals; and the States of Ohio and Iowa have refused to surrender to justice fugitives charged with murder, and with inciting servile insurrection in the State of Virginia. Thus the constituted compact has been deliberately broken and disregarded by the non-slaveholding States, and the consequence follows that South Carolina is released from her obligation. [my bold]

yep, sad, sad, sad.

*crickets* from the resident rw'ers here. Surprised? :doubt:

in current news, the US cities with the highest crime rates also have the most strict unconstitutional gun laws.

yes, that means libs pass laws that lead to more minorities killing each other over turf.

But they are not racist, no, b/c it's black on black crime, and that's ok, to them.

Shortly after Louisiana's secession, Governor Thomas Overton Moore issued pleas for troops on April 17 and April 21, 1861. In response to the governor's request, a committee of ten prominent New Orleans free blacks called a meeting at the Catholic Institute on April 22. About two thousand people attended the meeting where muster lists were opened, with about 1,500 free blacks signing up. Governor Moore accepted the services of these men as part of the state's miltia.[2]

For dimocrap scum, who were the ones we were fighting and killing in the Civil War, there seems to be a Statute of Limitations.

You try to attach blame to the people who deserve it -- dimocrap scum, for being the slavers and Rebel scum they were and they'll immediately scream, "That was so long ago"!!!

But anybody else? Anybody else is immediately guilty by association. Even if it was 150 years ago. Especially if they happen to be Conservative.

dimocraps are the scum of the Earth.

And stupid
