It is quite common that men who have committed violent acts against women suddenly claim to be transgender to be housed in a women's prison. They are sent to women's prisons without medication or surgery. They can be as violent as they want. They have free reign to rape women, and even some female guards. The prison system simply does not believe women that are beaten, raped or even impregnated. They are wholly invested in the fantasy that this man is a woman.From the article:
