Muhammad did not say "kill the jews"
Muhammad and the Jewish tribes of Medina
In the course of Muhammad's proselytizing in Mecca, he viewed Christians and Jews, both of whom he referred to as "People of the Book", as natural allies, sharing the core principles of his teachings, and anticipated their acceptance and support. Muslims, like Jews, were at that time praying towards Jerusalem.[2] During the height of Muslim persecution in Mecca, Muhammad was offered the position of arbitrator in the highly diverse Medina, which had a large Jewish community.

And as his mental affliction became worse he became more unstable and started issuing commands to kill the unbelievers. Giving explicit instructions to strike their heads from their shoulders, to terrorise them until they converted to islam. In the case of Medina he ethnically cleansed the Jews from the land and stole all their property. Putting one tribe to the sword who had done nothing wrong.
