Have I complained?
Play limit games until you think you've learned to spot "tells". Then try some local tournaments,Having been a professional gambler for 10 years (wrote a book about it) Live Poker is the ONLY game where you're not playing against the House.
Start off with $2-4 and move up to $3-6 before going big time.
Patience, patience, and patience.

Are tournaments a rip off? That's why hubby plays....

Tournaments are simply a chance to play against a lot of other players. The house gets the same "rake" whether it's a single game or a tournament.

Remember, it's not so much the cards as the people you're playing against.

That's why I'm just competent at poker, I'm an odds guy, can't read people to save my life.

I'm entirely too lazy to read people. I think it's a natural skill for some...
Ever see Rounders?
Love that movie!

Well I guess my question was are you better off playing at a $2-$4 limit table vs. a tournament (you just but in and have to finish at a certain level to get a pay off)

Yep, home of the worst Russian accent ever, by Mr. Malkovich.
I prefer to keep my money.
I did try casinos but it didn't take long to see where they get the money for those huge, gorgeous buildings. I like poker but really, casinos are boring.
Went to a casino once. Won $50 in black jack. Probably the only game I'll ever play.Do you gamble? What's your favorite casino game?
Black Jack for me....
the horse or dog tracks the best odds.Do you gamble? What's your favorite casino game?
Black Jack for me....
Black Jack is my favorite game. Go to casinos maybe 4 or 6 times a month here in U.S. and also play overseas.
I never split 20, always hit on 16 if dealer showing high, always double on 11.
Like to play one on one with the dealer or less player the better. Single or double deck only.
And you better know how to play when playing in high limits. Also learn how to RUN when you won.
Yes and No but it's easy to estimate what numbers has come up in a single deck. Compared to 4 or 5 deck. At high limits mostly 2 or single deck which most of the time the tide is in my favor.Black Jack is my favorite game. Go to casinos maybe 4 or 6 times a month here in U.S. and also play overseas.

You should know that it makes no difference how many decks are used.
