Does modern media remind you of the film Switching Channels?

As the world became more commercial, media networks invested in pop-religion marketing, and EWTN (Catholic-TV) and Al Jazeera (Muslim-TV) became quite popular. This was the age of good feelings and sometimes annoying chatter, and religious tolerance evaluations would complement the development of politics-based globalization. It was almost as if the history of religion itself was on trial.

A superhero named Mister Fantastic and a wily Blue Dragon contended with each other for dominion on Earth over the forces of metaphysics and mysticism in this new age of network-oriented traffic. Was modern civilization a net or a flower? Since 'net' sounded so colder, Blue Dragon claimed mysticism would be challenging to surface; however, Mister Fantastic insisted the two negotiate their differences with a healthy debate and a series of games (of chess and poker). Blue Dragon agreed...

MISTER FANTASTIC: The capitalist mentality is to embrace opportunism...
BLUE DRAGON: Ambition-oriented networking (e.g., Wall Street) reveal dependencies.
MISTER FANTASTIC: People indulge in conveniences, but mercantilism can be artisanship.
BLUE DRAGON: I suppose Toys 'R Us and IBM can be considered 'imaginative.'
MISTER FANTASTIC: As you see, capitalism can foster great intellectual confidence.
BLUE DRAGON: However, there is also a system of corruption threatening democracy.
MISTER FANTASTIC: Yes, 'power-circles' among the elite create flaws (e.g., Reaganomics).
BLUE DRAGON: Do you think American Express, Wal-Mart, and Starbucks create fitness?
MISTER FANTASTIC: There's the danger of a cheeseburger-cholesterol consciousness...
BLUE DRAGON: So how do you intend to address this 'apparent danger'?
MISTER FANTASTIC: I prefer using systems of empirical democracy (e.g., WikiLeaks).
BLUE DRAGON: In that case, you're an 'advocate' of mercantile sorcery (e.g., Intel).
MISTER FANTASTIC: Yes! Networking fosters games/competition and exchange.
BLUE DRAGON: Are you a fan of EWTN (Catholic-TV) and Al Jazeera (Muslim-TV)?
MISTER FANTASTIC: I like both, and I argue that media can create much 'dance.'
BLUE DRAGON: Censorship is the greatest threat to new age dialogue.
MISTER FANTASTIC: I'm not a huge fan of MTV, but I like how Facebook promotes boldness.
BLUE DRAGON: Networking can seem 'boring' since commerce can feel so 'calculated.'

After completing their interesting debate/discussion, Mister Fantastic and Blue Dragon retreated into the next room in their chateau to play a game of chess. Mister Fantastic had a very fancy blue-and-white marble chessboard in that room, and the two sat down to challenge each others' differing styles. Mister Fantastic was much more 'democratic' and friendly in his playing-style, while Blue Dragon was much more ruthless and calculating. The game was very revealing of why a chess game can symbolize 'real courage.' The game was broadcasted on both EWTN and Al Jazeera, since Mister Fantastic invited journalists to the game at the chateau.

GAME MOVES:

The sides progressed using pawn-arrangements and knight-moves. There was a castling and a bringing out of the two queens and contest with the bishops. There was a quickfire elimination of rooks, and white (Fantastic) took the game in the end by cornering the white (Dragon) with a bishop-queen contest. It was a game of attrition, and Fantastic managed to win, simply because he was more focused on lateral securities. However, it was also considered a sort of 'structured stalemate' since, of course, a game symbolizing 'parallel-philosophies' does not easily go in the way of any competitor.

GAME EXPLANATION:

The game was interesting and represented a modern intelligence regarding the bifurcation of offensive strategies in new age governance. Fantastic's play was more symbolic of democratic courage, while Dragon's play was more symbolic of socialization management. Fantastic claimed his playing-style would be appreciated more by EWTN (Catholic-TV), since that religion-network promoted liberty discussions; and Blue Dragon claimed his own playing-style would be appreciated more by Al Jazeera (Muslim-TV), since that religion-network promoted more socialization imagination.

After completing this monumental chess match, which resulted in a rather symbolic stalemate, Mister Fantastic and Blue Dragon decided to play a game of poker. Mister Fantastic had a very impressive deck of blue-colored playing cards. Blue Dragon played with great gusto in poker, while Fantastic was much more reserved. They both liked a generally experimental gambling style of poker-play. Fantastic won the 1st and 3rd hands with two pairs and a flush. Dragon won the 2nd and 4th hands with two pairs and a full-house. Dragon won the 5th and final hand with a straight royal-flush. When asked by Fantastic why Dragon thought his victory in the poker-series between them would symbolize Al Jazeera controversies, Dragon replied, "My style of play parallels the experimental political style of Al Jazeera (and therefore why it would create incendiary discussions about 'inquisitive aesthetics').

After their games concluded, Fantastic and Dragon told the press, "This is the Age of IBM and Wal-Mart, and consumers should revel in new age networking/media conveniences such as Facebook and Al Jazeera. The modern world is one of dialogue and negotiation and therefore requires much socialization contemplation and contract imagination. Kids today play on computers more than ever before, so everyone's really 'pensive' about intelligence hygiene. May ingenuity flourish..."
