I'm not so sure about #1 & 2 above.
Willis was and is single (divorced years ago). And a consensual adult here.
Her subordinate is now single.....and was in the process of a divorce when the relationship began. He too is a consensual adult here.

Single adults .... have been known to have consensual romantic relationships.
Duh!

More importantly, as post #3 above perceptively notes......the 'fake elector plot' is a real case, it was not fabricated because a boss was romantically involved with a subordinate.

But OK, let's assume that Fanni Willis is taken off this case. Will the case go away?

I doubt it. It will, undoubtedly be delayed. But a delay here ain't as critical as it could be in the federal indictments against Trump. Willis is overseeing 'state' indictments. Meaning, if this fraudulent elector scheme results in convictions, a newly elected President Trump.....cannot order the DOJ to dismiss the conviction or even stop an ongoing trial.
