I do wonder if the school have thought this through ? These petty rulings have no effect on education and in this case are just discriminatory.

Every year we hear of some shool that thinks its a military academy. I believe that this is one of the schools that turned its libraries into jail cells. Ho hum.

The young man is smart and obviously takes a pride in his appearance. What else do they want ?

They should just teach and stop messing with stuff that doesnt matter.

The world is changing

Blacks have corn rows and braids
Kids have their hair dyed extreme colors
Kids have piercings and tattoos
Some kids dress for religious reasons

We are no longer in 1950s America

Sooo, learning isn't really necessary?

...and the public school educational outcomes reflect the benefits of this newfound freedom.

School is supposed to be preparation for life. What employer would hire someone with the preposterous hairstyles that are currently in vogue? They can't all be rappers and youtube stars.

1) The article is entirely based on accusations by his family.
2) The photo they chose to show of the student would not violate their dress code, why didn't they show photos of how he was wearing it in school?
3) The "hair rule" does not specify style, despite the family saying that. Simply not true. The rule is that hair cannot be work to be below their eyebrows and over their ears. Which is a reasonable rule.

Once again yet another liberal rag based on one representation of the story, not the actual truth and of course implying raaaacism.

Morons. All of you.

Dress codes are a good thing....

Tough punks used to sew American flags upside down on the back of jean jackets too. Marxist school officials had no problem with that dress style. Killing Communists in Vietnam was a bad thing for the Leftist loons.
