there isn't enough ice up there to raise the oceans that much. the oceans are so large that it would take a lot more ice than up there melting to raise the ocean level. try a little experiment fill your bath tub up and then go sit in it. the level barely goes up. now try this in the ocean the ocean is so large seven tenths of the total area of the earth that it would take a real lot to raise the ocean level say six feet that the doomsayers are predicting. Heating Up June 18, 2008 -- The world's oceans have warmed 50 percent faster over the last 40 years than previously thought due to climate change, Australian and U.S. climate researchers reported Wednesday.

Higher ocean temperatures expand the volume of water, contributing to a rise in sea levels that is submerging small island nations and threatening to wreak havoc in low-lying, densely-populated delta regions around the globe.
