Exactly, record profits for record productivity with the least amount of labor they can get away with! How much did the wage slaves get who do all the work? 1%? Ooh, maybe a whopping 3%? And workers' salaries are stagnated and now declining vs. inflation and cost of living... Labor has never been cheaper, but they won't be happy until we are at third world status, IMO.

The company i've worked for 20 years now had a record breaking year. This was also their 50th anniversary. This summer they had a huge celebration that was open to the public, over 4000 people came. They gave all employees (almost 500 of us) bonus's....$50 for each year we've worked there. My husband also works there (he has 15 yrs, he's in the union, i'm in the office), so we got a couple pretty nice checks. Every year the union people get an 1100.00 bonus on 12/1. This year because the company has done so well, they surprised the office people with an 1100.00 bonus as well! And...we also got our regular raises.

I know there aren't A LOT of companies out there that treat their employees so well, we're truly blessed to be there. It's a family owned company that has grown so much they have places now also in the UK, China & Brazil. This is truly a family that cares about their employees. Too bad all companies weren't the same.

You are lucky. And so am I. I work for a Japanese company, and their worker/executive pay ratio is much more reasonable. They only froze us one year, but the raises haven't been nearly as big as they used to be before the melt-down. I do have a pension though. I wish corporate America was as ethical re their employees. I hope to never have to work for an American corporation again. Horrible. It really pains me to see what is happening to the workforce here.

I find it interesting that you think it's any of your business how much money other people make. Maybe if you invested as much time in improving your station in life as you do seething over the success of others you'd be less of a miserable SOB and a more productive individual.

For one, Corporate profits are at an all time high - i.e. business is booming under Obama.

Second, taxes have remained the same. You busted your nut way too prematurely, no wonder you're bitter.
