I am not that interested in the relationship Venezuela and Columbia have with each other. Therefore I am not that knowledgeable about it. Im not a citizen of either one of those nations. Im more conserved with America and its standing in the world. At the same time, if Chaves of Columbia bullies other nations in a similar fashion as Bush of America bullies other nations, than I hold equal criticism toward Chaves. It is as simple as that.
Chavez openly supports leftis guerillas at war with the Columbian government; which, DOES concern the US since we keep the Columbian gov't propped up in its war against the drug cartels.

He interfered with OUR country by going to black areas and offering free oil. The idea was to stoke hatred of evil whitey who denies you poor American blacks and browns what you need. I'd say, boy, you can give the blacks and the browns all the free oil you want. And then take them back to Venezuela with you. You all can have a multicultural socialist orgy.
Retired likes to clump all lefties into one bag as the spawn of Satan.
Some day when he grows up he will realize that the left and right balance each other. If either was in total control this would no longer be free country.
I wonder if Chavez is still pissed just because someone tried to assasinate him? What a little dick tater.
Had we played our cards right, we would have access to all their oil and could tell Saudi Arabia to piss off.
Hell, we are friends with Pakistan, China, Russia, most of the Stans, etc. Why not a little smoozing with Hugo baby before he went over to the Dark Side?
Sure. Then you could add him to your list of evil dictators the Bush's do business with, right?
what a dumb ass response..it does not refute the last post..its just your own private made up scenario and then you attempt to project it on to someone else
It is absolutely relevant. It is the usual tactic of a liberal, make a claim and if you look at the claim they are actually setting you up for another attack if you agree with them. Damned if you do and damned if you don't.
IF we were all hunky dorry with Chavez then Ray would be on about how we support some tin pot dictator. Because we are not he is on about how we should be. Dishonest argument no matter how you look at it.
Chavez is moving troops and tanks to the border and threatening another nation for the horrible act of self defense. Chavez supports the terrorists fighting the DULY elected Government of another Country. And now he is moving troops to the border to protect those terrorists. THAT alone is an act of war. And I bet he doesn't stop there. Chavez not Columbia is pushing South America to the Brink of War.
Lets hope if retard does attack Brazil sides with Columbia. If Obama wins in November we can be sure he won't help our allies. Hell he probably WILL try to make a deal with Chavez.

Man you better bone up.........................http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3uxEP7C4wxk
Yup, the terrorists are really just revolutionaries that control 3/4 of the population, yet somehow can not win with out drugs, kidnappings and bombings. And even with those tactics STILL can not win. Somehow the evil corrupt Government remains in power, raises armies and para militaries with just 1 in 4 of the population even remotely supporting them.
The one that needs to bone up is not me.
Chavez is a typical populist demagogue who is trying to turn the country back to the 60s. He is failing, inflation is soaring and shortages are occurring because Hugh is attempting to deal with the problem by implementing price controls, with the typical responses. Under his rule, output from PdVSA, the Venezuelan national oil company, has declined by about 25%, and last year, the country's oil receipts fell by 5% even though oil rose to $100. The country has a worse relative fiscal deficit than America.
Now, to divert attentions from the problems at home, he is rattling sabres with Colombia. No surprise there.

The reference to what Chavez is doing vis-a-vis the economy sounds suspiciously like the crap Mugabe pulled. I have no idea what Chavez is up to regarding his economy and to be frank I don't really give a rat's arse. Anyway he sounds like a right prick. I don't agree with interference in another country's internal affairs so everyone else should stay out of it because if we gave a toss about people in failed/failing states then we would have got rid of Mugabe a few years ago.
But yes, I agree, there's nothing like an external threat (even an exaggerated or imaginary threat) to build solidarity with the home government - it's an old trick and it works every time.
