The Northeast generally has a low crime rate, and high academic standards (for a public education system), and high educational achievement, and anywhere from Mid to High income depending on the cost of living and the level of urban development.

But often very erroneously included in those statistics, are states like New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, The District of Columbia, Virginia and West Virginia.

These are not Northeastern States, these are what is much more accurately called "The Mid-Atlantic" states.
They are the buffer between the true Northeastern states like Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut, and True southern states like North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida.
And Midwestern states like Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana and Iowa and so on.

The Mid-Atlantic takes on cultural characteristics that are Jumble of all three.

And the truth of matter is, is that the states that are west of Pennsylvania, and South of Maryland have lower Academic standards, more gun crimes, higher murder rates, less professionalism and higher poverty rates than the True Northeast does.

The True Northeast which is the New England states, are buffered against those other states by the Mid-Atlantic.

The Mid-Atlantic is a mixed bag.
It is not New England, nor is it Geopolitically, Ethnically and Racially, and Socioeconomically the Northeast.

So why do they insist on calling the Mid-Atlantic the Northeast, based on a Civil War that no longer has any social standing in modern America ?

Moreover, Virginia isn't the Mid-Atlantic either, it is the beginning of the True South and was a Confederate State and in fact Richmond was the Capitol of the CSA.

Because the mid Atlantic is in the northeastern section of the country ?

Because the mid Atlantic is in the northeastern section of the country ?

Its also not technically in the Northeastern region of the country, it is a vast stretch of land that is geographically in the middle of the country along the eastern coast.
The Mid Atlantic is also to the west of New England.

Give me a break. Those are definitely northeast region states. Every company and commensurate geographic service I've worked with organizes the states that way. Northeast, Southeast, Central, South, West.

Which is Geographically, Politically, Economically, Ethnically, Racially and Culturally, and even Biologically and Ecologically erroneous.
This isn't about what the officials are saying, this is about reality, this is accusing the makers of the statistics of not being honest.

And the Mid Atlantic is not and never has been, Northeastern region states.
They are crossroads states.

This is just white people, this does not include any other race.

The majority of the New York white population is of Southern European, Irish and Germanic Heritage, In Pennsylvania on downward and westward, the white population is more German.

The majority of the White population of New England is British (English and Welsh), and with a higher population of Ethnically true French than most other regions of the Country.

That is just a demographic difference between the white people of the true Northeast, vs the Mid Atlantic on down and west.

What is the lifestyle consequences ? enormous, as is the belief system and level of Education.
