Eric Holder Displays Extraordinary Hypocrisy on Gun Control

While Holder prepares to use all the powers of the Department of Justice and ATF to push through President Obama's new gun control agenda, he is more than happy to ignore Operation Fast and Furious. As a reminder, this was the DOJ program that allowed the deliberate trafficking of military style assault AK-47s to violent Mexican drug cartels south of the border. Let's not forget Holder has not only refused to cooperate with Congress when it comes to turning over documents about the lethal scandal (death toll is 400 people and counting), he's asked a court to indefinitely hold documents requested by Congress and through FOIA.

"This unspeakable tragedy but also the individual tragedies that take place on your streets and all

(2) Under Obama and Holder's leadership, prosecutions of gun related crimes are down by 40 percent.
(3) Holder argues, "we have repeatedly seen in the most tragic ways how easy it can be for dangerous people to acquire and to wreak havoc with deadly weapons." Yeah, like in Mexico as a result of his own DOJ program during which ATF and DOJ officials watched known criminals for an entire year purchase guns, guns they knew would then be transferred to violent Mexican cartels and used in murders.
(4) We can save lives by not deliberatly arming cold-blooded murderers, as Holder's DOJ did.
This means
(5) doing everything that we can to secure the tools and resources we need to keep guns out of the hands who are not and should not be allowed to possess them.

Maze of gun laws in US hurts gun control efforts
Jan 25,`13 WASHINGTON (AP) -- Military-style assault weapons, gangster-style Tommy guns, World War II-era bazookas and even sawed-off shotguns - somewhere in the U.S., there is a legal avenue to get each of those firearms and more.
This is thanks to the maze of gun statutes around the country and the lack of a minimum federal standard to raise the bar for gun control in states with weak laws. An Associated Press analysis found that there are thousands of laws, rules and regulations at the local, county, state and federal levels. The laws and rules vary by state, and even within states, according to a 2011 compilation of state gun laws by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. These laws and regulations govern who can carry a firearm, what kind of firearm is legal, the size of ammunition magazines and more. In some places, a person can buy as many guns as desired.

This maze of laws undermines gun-control efforts in communities with tougher gun laws - and pushes advocates of tighter controls to seek a federal standard. Gun rights proponents say enforcing all existing laws makes more sense than passing new ones. "If you regulate something on the local or state level, you are still a victim to guns coming into other localities or states," said Laura Cutilletta, a senior staff attorney at the California-based Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence.

In California, most guns come from Nevada, where there is almost no regulation of firearms, Cutilletta said, and in Arizona, gun owners don't need a permit. President Barack Obama earlier this month announced a $500 million plan to tighten federal gun laws. The December shooting massacre in Newtown, Conn., that killed 20 children and six adults at an elementary school launched the issue of gun control policy to a national focus not seen in decades.

Obama is urging Congress to pass new laws, some of which would set a minimum standard for the types of firearms and ammunition that are commercially available. Democratic Sens. Patrick Leahy of Vermont and Dianne Feinstein of California introduced new proposals this week to increase penalties for firearms trafficking and impose a new assault weapons ban. The powerful gun lobby says the problem lies in enforcement of existing laws.

Feinstein Ban Includes Handguns: 'The Purpose is to Dry Up The Supply of These Weapons'
January 24, 2013 - Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) says the purpose of her proposal to ban assault weapons “is to dry up the supply of these weapons over time.”
The legislation would ban the manufacture of 158 named firearms including certain handguns and shotguns. “We have tried to recognize legal hunting rights, we have tried to recognize legal defense rights, we have tried to recognize the right of a citizen to legally possess a weapon.” Feinstein said on Thursday. “No weapon is taken from any one, the purpose is to dry up the supply of these weapons over time. Therefore there is no sunset on this bill.”

Feinstein’s proposal aims to achieve several goals:

- Ban the sale, transfer, importation or manufacturing of 158 named firearms, including certain rifles, handguns and shotguns that accept detachable magazines and have one military characteristic.

- Ban semiautomatic rifles and handguns with a fixed magazine that can accept more than 10 rounds

- Create a one-characteristic test to determine what constitutes an assault weapon. Eliminating easy-to-remove bayonet mounts and flash suppressors from the characteristics test. Banning firearms with “thumbhole stocks” and “bullet buttons.”

- Ban semiautomatic ammunition magazines that hold more than 10 rounds.

Feinstein’s bill would grandfather in weapons legally owned on the day of enactment and exempts over 900 specific weapons used for sporting purposes. However, the legislation requires that grandfathered weapons be registered under the National Firearms Act, which includes a background check of owner and any transferee, type and serial number of the firearm and positive identification, including photograph and fingerprints.

The same assholes that want to control guns in America sent fighter jets and other weapons to the terrorist organization known as the Muslim Brotherhood. They will slaughter anyone in Egypt who doesn't obey, like the Christians. Israel is next. And then, maybe America. They hate us and must be laughing at how we send billions of dollars in aid, aircraft and weapons. Let's make it easy for them to continue their reign of terror on the world. Riots in the streets there now and people killed left and right. Obama helped make this happen.

They thought nothing of handing weapons to drug cartels with no means of tracking them. That means there was another reason to allow them to get the weapons, like scaring people by claiming that gun shops sell to anyone without question and we are all in danger. It wasn't supposed to be made public, so they couldn't follow the original plan and instead have failed to cooperate with the investigation and count on the media not to ask questions.

They don't care one iota about the safety of the American people. They are afraid of the American people and that is the only reason any dictator ever sought to disarm the public. All governments who confiscated the weapons from it's citizens ended up killing citizens.

It's not that they are really hypocrites, it's that they have an agenda and sometimes their lies contradict each other. The media usually covers for this and only the people paying close attention are even aware of what is really going on. Too many sip the koolaid and put things out of their mind.

Right now the radical fringe of the left is in control and they intend to make the most of it. Obama seems frustrated that we even have a constitution and due process, so does his best to get around it. I'm sure he dreams of the day when he rules and can do anything he wants. Those supporting him now will be as miserable as the rest of us and, sadly, we won't have the freedom of speech to tell them, "I told you so."
