Do her male staffers, on average, have higher positions and more authority to the female staffers? If there is a discrepancy between salaries paid to two people doing the same job, then she has a problem. But if managers are paid more than staff, that would be normal.

Pay equity isn't about everyone making the same amount of money, it's about two people doing the same job getting the same rate of pay regardless of sex.

If you have 5 jobs, two are taken by women, and three by men, and the two women and two of the men do the same job and get paid the same, and one is the boss and male and gets paid more for being the boss, this isn't unjust disparity at all.

So to claim hypocrisy you need to show that the positions were similar.

Among employees employed the entire year, only one woman, Warren's director of scheduling, earned a six-figure salary, at $100,624.88.

Five men—Warren's director of oversight and investigations ($156,000), legislative director ($149,458), deputy chief of staff ($119,375), Massachusetts state director ($152,310), and deputy state director ($113,750)—earned more than Warren's highest paid woman staffer in 2016.

Is there any reason to think that Director of Scheduling should make the salary of Director of oversight and investigations?

Are you even reading what's been posted here?

Looking to dump on Warren, someone totalled her male staff pay, and her female staff pay, and low and behold, the men, on average, made 29% more than the women. That's because the men all held senior management positions in her office, and only one woman held a management job. Even among the men, some made more money than others, based on the level of their position.

Pay equity does not mean everyone makes the same amount of money, it means everyone doing the same job makes the same amount of money. The OP is completely false, because all of her staff is compensated based on their respective positions within her staff. It is perfectly normal to pay senior staff more than clerical, whether the clerical staff are men or women.

Interesting that Warren trusts men more than women to be on her senior staff and allocates women staffers to more menial positions. That is a bigger issue than pay equity.
