drudge: newsite or gossip site?

No, it's a simple concept. You say people's sex lives are no one's business but their own...and I agree with that.

But then you add "...unless their conservative, in which case their sex lives are public domain."

Flaming hypocrite.

really? dems pretend to be straight while running on a platform of homophobia?

no one cares about sexuality... unless someone rants and raves about people just like themselves.
Yeah. So why does Drudge's orientation matter? Jeff Gannon's?

The Drudge Report is a news aggregation site plain and simple. They have a consistently interesting variety of stories culled from various sources along with hundreds of links. Occasionally Drudge will write a short article, but 99% of the time he just links the stories. Year after year he's done a great job of linking interesting and provocative stories. He is a force to be reckoned with!

If you don't like it, why not start your own aggregation site? It's not very hard to do. Of course, getting an audience is another story entirely.

PS - His book "the drudge manifesto" is a great read.

I don't think i said it does particularly matter in drudge's case. gannon's only mattered because a male escort, without journalistic credentials was given white house press passes and seemed to be set up to ask friendly questions of the president.... and was given those credentials by a white house which got re-elected on a gay-bashing agenda.

That's not the Statist way. They prefer getting the government to enforce their views with threat of force.

Why start your own website when you can get the government to shut down the ones you don't like?

Pull yourself back a bit, 'tish....

well, gomez, you don't think that putting all those anti-gay marriage initiatives on ballots all over the country were a concerted strategy of ken mehlman and his fellow gop'ers? or do you think the level at which they benefitted from those initiatives was coincidence?

They didn't get re-elected on a gay-bashing agenda....

They got re-elected because more people wanted "evil Boooooosh" over the elitist, piece of crap John F'in Kerry....

you mean they wanted the idiot over someone smart? yep... they did.

but they got their 'base' out to vote with the anti-gay agenda. bush's approval ratings at the time weren't exactly stellar. (though i will agree that kerry wasn't the best of candidates).

No, I mean what I said - not your translation of what I said...

America rejected Kerry, the far-left, elitist, asshole, piece of crap...

The "base" got out to defeat the far left agenda of what Kerry was offering...

Most "rightwingers" don't give a crap about "teh gayz"...

Gay marriage was NOT the deciding factor in Kerry's defeat....

yes, in favor of the idiot.

it always amazed me how the swiftboaters made a war hero a goat and took someone who did everything to avoid going to vietnam a hero.

quite effective. i wish the dems would learn from that and figure out how to play that type of game.

but the 'base' does care..

and that is what got the vote out. it's not like bush won by a landslide. that little radical religious right base was pretty friendly to the anti-gay agenda.

you can argue it didn't make a difference, but they thought it did and that's why those initiatives were put on the ballot. at least ken mehlman seems to think so.

You can pretend your "anti-gay fantasy" is truth, but you are very wrong...

The base came out to defeat far-leftist asshole Kerry and his far-left agenda.... It had nothing to do with "teh gayz"....

Columnist James Ahearn of New Jersey's Bergen Record has a great column on, of all things, the stagehands at New York city's top performing arts venues such as Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall. These are not highly skilled or technical jobs but take a gander at how much they are paid:

At Avery Fisher Hall and Alice Tully Hall in Lincoln Center, the average stagehand salary and benefits package is $290,000 a year.

To repeat, that is the average compensation of all the workers who move musicians' chairs into place and hang lights, not the pay of the top five.

Across the plaza at the Metropolitan Opera, a spokesman said stagehands rarely broke into the top-five category. But a couple of years ago, one did. The props master, James Blumenfeld, got $334,000 at that time, including some vacation back pay.
