Douglas “Wrong Way” Corrigan is the guy who took off in New York heading for California and he landed in Ireland. Trump took off from Promises, USA heading for limited government and he landed in Big Government, USA. I just cannot see how hiring more parasites shrinks the government no matter how they spin it:

WASHINGTON—The administration plans to lift the federal hiring freeze that has been in place for the past three months but will continue its push to restructure and downsize the federal government, seen as a central piece of President Donald Trump’s pledge to “drain the swamp.”

XXXXX

Mr. Mulvaney said the federal government would lift the hiring freeze on Wednesday. Agencies will be able to hire again, but will be required to submit plans for making themselves leaner. Some, such as the Environmental Protection Agency, will do so in the knowledge that Mr. Mulvaney and his former colleagues in the House of Representatives are eager to restrict their budget.

Trump to Lift Federal Hiring Freeze

I am not sure President Trump understands that he cannot drain the swamp until he first dries up that cesspool where media and education industries parasites thrive. The only way he can do it is to stop flushing tax dollars into the cesspool.

Fortunately, the U.S. Supreme Court struck down loyalty oaths as a condition of employment in 1964.

Today we’re seeing the re-emergence of the mentality that gave us loyalty oaths, in the form of mandating that faculty members write “diversity statements,” especially as part of hiring and promotion procedures. They are forced to pledge allegiance to the college’s diversity agenda.

The Cancer Eating Away at College Campuses

It took Trump less than 90 days to roll over for the parasite class on the domestic front. I will run with the big dog for a while longer, but I must admit that smelling the United Nations in the shadows has made me as skittish as a Mexican jumping bean:

Trump “will not stop here,” warned U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley on Sunday. “If he needs to do more, he will.”

If Trump fails to back up Haley’s threat, the hawks now cheering him on will begin deriding him as “Donald Obama.”

There is not a thing wrong with bombing the piss out of Iran and North Korea with or without Congress’ approval, but Syria’s civil war is none of Trump’s business:

Trump’s missile attack was unconstitutional. Assad had not attacked or threatened us, and Congress, which alone has the power to authorize war on Syria, has never done so.

Is Trump enlisting in the War Party?

Obama/Clinton/Kerry all but invited the Russians into Syria. Trump would be a fool to clean up their mess. Instead of lining up with Putin to fight ISIS the best thing Trump can do is to work Syria into another Afghanistan-type disaster for Russia that it was for the Soviet Union. If nothing else, Trump will keep the CIA busy doing something useful:

More than eight years after they intervened in Afghanistan to support the procommunist government, Soviet troops begin their withdrawal. The event marked the beginning of the end to a long, bloody, and fruitless Soviet occupation of Afghanistan.

I just cannot see how hiring more parasites shrinks the government no matter how they spin it:
Infrastructure is an employment agency for the parasite class:

Anti-tax crusader Grover Norquist and other prominent conservatives are urging President Trump and congressional Republicans to keep infrastructure spending out of a tax-reform bill.

Trump has floated linking the two issues together in a bid to win bipartisan support for a $1 trillion package that would revitalize the nation’s roads, bridges and airports.

Some lawmakers have expressed support for the idea, including fiscal conservatives wary of increased government spending.

But other conservatives worry that tackling infrastructure and tax reform at the same time could make it harder to cut taxes. They say Republicans don’t need Democratic support to pass tax reform and shouldn’t squander the opportunity to enact historic changes.

In addition to Trump marrying the Affordable Care Act to tax-reform:

Trump insists on healthcare reform before tax reform

every tax dollar spent on infrastructure forces the majority to pay for things they do not use. Airports is a good example.

Every time Democrats mention infrastructure they mean throw more money to the parasites in the education industry; so how is Trump any different than a Democrat?

“Schools” is the most expensive item in infrastructure. Gasoline taxes bring in revenues for highways, bridges, tunnels, etc., while the entire education industry soaks up tax dollars faster than a Bounty paper towel soaks up water.

NOTE: The amount Trump & Company will give to the education industry is the best kept secret in infrastructure spending.

Finally, if Trump was ever serious about reducing the number of parasites feeding at the public trough he can easily prove it by stopping all federal tax dollars going to institutions of “higher learning” —— that includes free higher education and student loans. That one should be easy to accomplish since the federal government has no constitutional authority to be in education in the first place.

I will bet that Putin and Xi Jinping are giving Trump the horselaugh over this one:

UN draft resolution on Syria attack: Vote fails with Russia veto, China abstains

Why in hell did Trump go to United Nations? Trump should have known that Russia would veto any Security Council resolution. Not satisfied with one huge mistake Trump gave China a chance to look good in the eyes of the world when this country got nothing in return.
